David Garrity is a technology analyst. He is CEO of NYC consulting firm, GVA Research.

Early life

David Garrity is son of Mary Katharine Potter and of John T. Garrity, who was a former managing director of McKinsey & Company and a founder of the Advanced Management Institute, Garrity received his B.A. from College Of The Holy Cross in 1983. In 1988, he received his MBA from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management.

Career

Garrity has had an extensive career in investment research.

Garrity began drawing media attention during his time at Designer Kleinwort Benson, when he put a $1,000 per share price target on Commerce One (CMRC). The high-profile call marked a turning point in Garrity's analyst career as he went from Auto Analyst to Technology Analyst.

In 2016, he became the host of "A Conversation With Investopedia" for which he interviewed John McAfee.

Garrity has also provided commentary on the Trump Administration, urging the new Administration to think carefully about privatizing key infrastructure.
