Reality TV Television Ratings News - July 2005
If the ratings for last night's premiere of Fox's new So You Think You Can Dance reality show are any indication, it looks like ABC's recently concluded Dancing with the Stars series isn't going to be this summer's only hit reality dancing show.
Don't look now, but it appears as though ABC might have another hit summer reality series on its hands.
CBS's Big Brother 6 premiered well on Thursday, handily winning its 8-9PM ET/PT time period in both total viewers and key demographics and teaming with CSI and Without A Trace repeats to lead CBS to a clean sweep in the night's primetime ratings.
ABC's Dancing With The Stars series ended its season with a bang on Wednesday night, drawing the most viewers and highest Adults 18-49 demographic numbers of any summer television series since Fox's September 2002 finale of American Idol's first season.
Continuing a run that's made it the undisputed breakout hit of the early summer season, last week's penultimate episode of ABC's Dancing with the Stars once again dominated the week's ratings, topping the television week's programming in nearly every key rating demographic.
