In a Survivor-esque episode, the "blond gaggle" of girls on The CW's Beauty and the Geek 3 made their presence known last night as they formed an alliance that sent the series' two remaining couples featuring dark-haired females to the elimination round.

Sheree, a 27-year-old former Hooters waitress from Live Oak, FL, and Piao, a 25-year-old tax accountant from Kissimmee, FL were the second couple eliminated in the show's third season.  The pair competed in the season's second elimination challenge against Andrea, a 23-year-old student and bartender from Kansas City, MO, and Matt, a 22-year-old MIT graduate from Goldens Bridge, NY.  Both Sheree and Andrea answered their questions about flight and space travel correctly, which left it up to Piao and Matt, who were asked questions about things women like to talk about.  When Piao didn't know the technicalities of a manicure, he and Sheree were sent packing.

Sheree and Andrea, the only two dark-haired beauties remaining in the competition, were noticeably not included in the "blond gaggle," a clique of the other five females remaining this season, which includes Nadia, a 25-year-old model and bartender from Chicago, IL; Jennylee, a 22-year-old model and Ultimate Fighting Championship ring girl from Sherman Oaks, CA; Cecille, a 27-year-old bikini model from Santa Cruz, CA; Erin, a 25-year-old voice teacher and model from Chicago, IL; and Megan, a 25-year-old model and Playboy cybergirl from Boca Raton, FL.

The episode began with Scooter, a 23-year-old Harvard graduate from Helena, MT, playing chess and suddenly finding himself laying in bed with Megan and Cecille.  As the girls began to flirt with Scooter, Cecille tried to cover the camera in the bedroom, but fell off the furniture she was standing on, which Megan said "sounded like a car accident."  Scooter said the entire incident left him shaking.

Next it was onto the challenge, where the girls had to study flight and space travel by reading a binder containing some of the geek's favorite publications and the guys had to study the art of appreciating woman by reading a binder containing some of the beauty's favorite magazines.  Piao described the guy's challenge of learning to appreciate women as "impossible."  While Sheree and Andrea studied hard, the other females seemed disinterested, swimming in the pool and laying in the sun in lieu of hitting the books.

"It's distasteful.  This isn't the Playboy mansion," said Andrea.  Added Sheree, "I was afraid of cliquish things.  It seems like there's so many superficialities, it's bothering the guys."

For their challenge the guys were ushered into a room containing art supplies and an easel, and they thought their task was going to be sketching a portrait of Sophie, who happened to be a nude model.  While several of the geeks commented on the size of her breasts, Piao said it was the first time he was ever in the presence of a naked woman.

"She was standing there.  Naked.  In-front of us," said Scooter.  "I don't think any of us knew what to do."

As the guys sketched away, Mario, a 25-year-old writer from Bridgeport, WV, noticed that Sophia was talking an awful lot.  While the other guys tried to block her out, Mario listened intently, which paid off because the challenge was actually answering questions about what Sophia had to say.  Mario won the challenge, meaning he and Nadia couldn't be sent home.  Meanwhile Piao didn't listen and sketched a portrait of one giant boob -- which he said represented the sun -- and several stick figures dancing around it.  While Sheree scolded Piao for not appreciating woman, Nadia was pleased with Mario.

"The most important thing a guy can do is listen," she said.  "Mario is going to make someone very happy someday."

However before that day could come, Nadia made Mario very happy by winning the female's challenge, which was to give a real-life tour of the California Science Center Air and Space Museum.  On each tour was the museum's curator, who judged the girls on their knowledge of flight and space as well as their ability to deliver it to an audience.  Mario noticed Nadia was both "polite and professional," and her win but the couple in a "powerful position" to choose both pairs for the second episode's elimination challenge.

Nadia, a member of the "blond gaggle," cried over the difficult decision, while Mario tried to talk her into putting some of her light-haired friends in the elimination challenge.  But like in so many other reality series, breaking up the alliance of blonds could have had a more detrimental impact than letting them just stick around.  So it was a "hard decision" to put Sheree and Piao in the challenge, and it was "nothing personal" when Andrea and Matt joined them.

"It feels like high school all over again," said Andrea.   "There's a lot about social interaction the girls could learn from the guys," Neals, a 25-year-old University of California electrical engineering graduate student from Silver Spring, MD, noted.

With Sheree and Piao eliminated in the second episode and Tori and Sanjay having been sent home in the first episode, six teams -- Nate and Cecille, Nadia and Mario, Jennylee and Niels, Erin and Drew, Andrea and Matt, and Megan and Scooter -- remain in the running to win the show's $250,000 grand prize.  Beauty and the Geek 3 will continue on Wednesday, January 17 at 8PM ET/PT on The CW.
