Beauty and the Geek's fifth-season cast was finally paired into the show's usual opposite-extreme couples -- but not before Jillian, a 22-year-old model from Northfield, NH who currently resides in Miami, FL, became the third contestant eliminated during Tuesday night's broadcast of The CW reality series.

Beauty and the Geek's third fifth-season episode began following the previous elimination of Amber, which made most of the other contestants happy -- except for Tommy, a 24-year-old law student from Somerville, MA, who felt he had a "strong connection" with Amber.

"It was sort of difficult to take," opined Tommy when Amber failed to return from the elimination room.  "But this is not goodbye forever.  We are going out.. It stinks that I'm not going to get to see her for a while -- but once I'm out of here -- I'm dating a supermodel."

The next morning, the 16 remaining contestants -- who were still competing as beauties versus geeks -- met host Mike Richards.

"We decided we should mix things up," said Mike.  "Your first job is to send one member from your team over to the other side.  This is a very important decision."

After giving each team a minute to discuss their decision, the beauties decided to send Jillian to the geeks, who chose to send Chris, a 23-year-old MIT oceanography student from Cambridge, MA, to the beauties.

"This week, you will compete as a member of your new team," explained Mike to Jillian and Chris.  "If your team loses this next challenge, you are automatically going home.  This also means the other members of the losing team will still be up for elimination.  So none of you is safe right now."

While he didn't describe what the challenge would entail, Mike supplied both teams with a variety of sporting gear and told them it would be helpful to go over their study material for the next day -- "game day."

Both teams practiced with the sporting equipment to see if anybody had any athletic attributes, with Jim, a 21-year-old computer programmer/student from Bedford, MA, immediately commenting he would be a "liability" for the geeks.  On the flip side, Randi, a 26-year-old stylist from Houston, TX, was confident since several of the beauties were athletic.

"If we lose I automatically go home," said Chris.  "I thrive in high-pressure situations that's all about raw energy and confidence.  When that comes into play, I just bring it.  Because the beauties have me, they're going to win."

The two teams then met at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for their challenge and Mike explained they'd be playing flag football.  He gave them an hour to work on their technique and strategy before the game would start.

Joe, a 24-year-old TV assignment editor from Nipomo, CA, was confident since he knows something about football, but immediately confused the geeks with the sport's terminology.  Chris took control of the beauties in an effort to determine his own fate in the challenge.

"Our team wasn't united, and it took someone like Chris to unite us," commented Leticia, a 29-year-old action-sports announcer from Orlando, FL.  "We definitely needed somebody like that on our team."

"I hope we win," opined Jillian.  "I want to stay, so I'm going to try my hardest, try my best."

The game then commenced and the beauties had the ball first, with Chris receiving a vicious hit from Tommy at the onset.  Chris realized the geeks couldn't defend against the run and took advantage of that to score the game's first touchdown, putting the beauties on top.  Once the geeks had the ball Joe continued to confuse them with terminology and then got frustrated at his teammates.

"None of us play football so we had no clue what he was talking about," said Jillian.  "I think that was kind of where we went wrong... If we lose than I go home, so I'm not happy about this at all."

The geeks subsequently fumbled, the beauties recovered, and neiter of the two sides scored for the remainder of the first half.  Tommy eventually scored the first touchdown for the geeks and the game was tied.  The beauties quickly retaliated with a score of their own and then scored again to take a two touchdown lead.

With time expiring, the geeks needed a quick score.  Instead, Matt, a 21-year-old student/writer from Dallas, TX, injured his shoulder and the medics were called onto the field.  He was taken to the emergency room and -- with only two minutes left -- the geeks needed a quick score.  They got it on a deep pass from Joe to Tommy, and the geeks were within one touchdown.

However Chris returned the kickoff for a touchdown and the beauties put the game out of reach and won the challenge.  Cara, a 21-year-old cocktail waitress from Temecula, CA, described the win as "bittersweet" since it meant Jillian was now eliminated.

"I'm sad because these guys that I've met here are like the sweetest and most genuine people," said Jillian after she was eliminated.  "I've never met anyone like them before, and I'm not thinking that this is going to be the end.  I'm definitely going to see them again.  People I guess need to give beauties more of a chance and geeks the same.  A lot of people don't get to know geeks and when you do, you find out they're amazing people."

Back at the mansion, Leticia stayed up late and waited for Matt to arrive.  He did suffer a break in his left shoulder and would be required to wear a brace for the next month.

"You can break my bone, but you ain't gonna break my spirit!" he told Leticia, who was sobbing.

"I was just happy to be back in the house and continue on in the game," added Matt, hoping for "sympathy points" when it came to the upcoming elimination nominations.

The next day, the geeks studied while the beauties discussed their options.  Tiffany, a 21-year-old student from Nashville, TN, suggested Jonathan, a 26-year-old system administrator/technical consultant from Colfax, CA; Jason, a 23-year-old Internet marketer from Brooklyn, NY; Joe; and Jim be nominated when talking with Tara, a 24-year-old model and Hooters hostess from Davie, FL.

Kristina, a 21-year-old student from Wheaton, IL, agreed Joe needed to be nominated since he showed so much intensity during the flag football game.  Jonathan was also agreed upon after "creeping some people out" during the football game, accused of touching one of the beauties' boobs.

"My main problem is being socially awkward," said Jonathan.  "I feel like when I have put myself out there -- like I've been doing here -- I feel like I get burned... I just feel like I haven't connected with the beauties as well as I thought I would.  It kind of feels like none of them like me."

Beauty and the Geek's third fifth-season nomination ceremony then commenced and Chris rejoined the geeks, however he was unable to be nominated for the upcoming elimination room.

"Now as for the rest of the geeks, each of you is at risk tonight," said Mike.  "But not in the way that you think.  Tonight, this game is changing course.  Up until this point, you guys have been competing as teams -- beauties versus geeks.  It's now time for you to pair-up as duos -- one beauty and one geek."

The contestants were excited that they'd finally be paired up, and because the beauties won the previous challenge, they'd have the opportunity to pick the teams "for the rest of the time in the mansion, " according to Mike.  However since there were eight geeks and seven beauties, that meant one geek would not be selected and thus be eliminated.

The beauties deliberated which geek each of them wanted to be paired with, with Chris and Greg, a gay 23-year-old clothing designer/pastry chef from Azusa, CA, being the most popular choices.

The beauties and geeks then reconvened and each beauty revealed who they selected to be paired with.

"My fate's out of my hands at this point," said Joe.  "The biggest reason I wouldn't be chosen is because of my poor showing during the football game.  I think that there's still a lot for me to learn here."

Cara chose Chris; Amanda, a 23-year-old model from Queen Creek, AZ, selected Tommy; Leticia picked Matt; Randi chose Greg; Kristina selected Jason; and Tiffany picked Jim, which was unexpected.

"We all thought she was about to calll out Jonathan's name because that was the partner that we had all discussed," said Cara.  "So she totally blew us all over."

"I knew in my head everyone was like, 'What is she saying?'" said Tiffany.  "I just prayed before we went in there... I was hit with this feeling that came into my whole body like, 'You're choosing Jim.'  There was no doubt in my mind."

Beauty and the Geek's next fifth-season episode will air Tuesday, April 1 at 8PM ET/PT on The CW, with Tara choosing either Joe or Jonathan as her partner and the other geek being booted.
