Anthony had entertained the audience by singing "If You Don't Know Me By Now" and "I'm Already There" during Tuesday's double-themed American Idol 4 performance show.

Joining Anthony in the week's bottom two vote-getters was Vonzell Solomon, a 20-year-old from Fort Myers, FL. Anthony had also finished in the previous week's bottom two vote-getters, surviving when Scott Savol was instead sent home.

With his departure, Anthony becomes the fifth male Idol 4 finalist to be eliminated, leaving Bo Bice, a 29-year-old from Helena, AL, as the show's sole remaining male finalist.

Anthony joins Scott (Week 8), Constantine Maroulis (Week 7), Anwar F. Robinson (Week 6), Nadia Turner (Week 5), Nikko Smith (Week 4), Jessica Sierra (Week 3), Mikalah Gordon (Week 2), and Lindsey Cardinale (Week 1) as American Idol 4's eliminated finalists.
