'90 Day: The Last Resort': Patrick's brother stirs the pot, Paola and Russ' marriage flatlines, Guillermo and Kara fight

90 Day: The Last Resort featured Patrick's brother John stirring up trouble, Paola and Russ' marriage flatlining, Kara and Guillermo fighting on their pretend first date, and Shekinah telling Sarper she felt "unsafe" during the Season 3 episode that aired Monday night on TLC.


The new season of 90 Day: The Last Resort stars Jenny Slatten and Sumit Singh, Shekinah Garner and Sarper Guven, Kara Bass and Guillermo Rojer Castillo, Paola Mayfield and Russ Mayfield, Thais Ramone and Patrick Mendes, and Rebecca Parrott and Zied Hakimi.

The six couples all reached a relationship breaking point and agreed to spend three weeks in the English countryside at the historic Thornbury Castle just outside of Bristol, England, undergoing a rigorous relationship boot camp designed to rebuild trust, communication and connections.

At the resort, the couples will be shown working with therapists and counselors to navigate issues of jealousy, anger and intimacy through group therapy, one-on-one sessions, intensive therapies and non-traditional exercises.


"With suspicions of infidelity and cheating, communication breakdowns, sexual incompatibilities, and financial strains, the couples are ready for a last-ditch effort to navigate [their] issues," TLC teased.

At the end of the retreat, each couple must decide if they want to renew their vows or call it quits on their relationship at the Final Commitment Ceremony.

Below is what happened on Episode 11 of 90 Day: The Last Resort's third season.

PAOLA and RUSS

Paola said she didn't know where to go in her relationship with Russ.

"After the fight Russ and I had... I don't even know if I'm angry at him anymore; I'm just sad," Paola shared.


"My marriage has been on life support for a very long time, and now, I feel like there's no distance, there is just, like, a flat line. All I can do is put my faith into therapy and see what tomorrow will bring."

KARA and GUILLERMO

Kara and Guillermo were about to do their homework by pretending to go on a first date with each other.

Guillermo told Kara that he was about to go out with someone "hot," and he hoped this outing would reignite the flame between them.

For their date, Guillermo gave Kara flowers, and then the couple rode bikes together. They had to pretend like they didn't know anything about each other, and Kara noticed that Guillermo looked a little nervous.

Kara recalled how her real first date with Guillermo was playing games underneath palm trees and the stars.


Once the pair arrived at their destination, they enjoyed a picnic on a grassy field.

Kara opened up to Guillermo about how she sang and made music. She added how she studied in China and could speak Chinese.

Guillermo, in turn, shared how he's a very kind person who loved spending time with his son and kayaking in his free time.

Guillermo said he was going to buy a motorcycle once he got back home, and then playing pretend suddenly stopped.

"That motorcycle has been sitting in our shed for three years," Kara told Guillermo, adding how that bike had gone untouched for years.

Kara suggested that Guillermo should sell or get rid of his old bike first, and Guillermo seemed annoyed.

"Anything else?" Guillermo asked sarcastically.

"I mean, if you could sign the papers to get yourself off the deed for our house," Kara said.

Kara said she had put the down payment on their home and Guillermo wasn't fiscally responsible.


"It's really hard to cycle away from five years of issues when all of these red flags are right in front of me," Kara explained to the cameras.

"I just don't think he should be able to accrue equity on a home if he's dropping that much money on a motorcycle."

Guillermo shouted, "What the f-ck?!"

"Can I finish a f-cking statement?!" Kara interjected.

Guillermo said they weren't in a good place and if gave her the response he really wanted to, they'd continue fighting.

Kara explained how she needed to feel supported in their marriage.


"I felt like I was drowning managing the house, managing a new baby, and managing my other two jobs. I just felt like I was bending over backwards to do everything, and you took it all for granted!" Kara complained.

Guillermo insisted he had a job that provided the couple insurance and he had given her everything that he had.

"Many times, you would say, 'That's not enough.' I was still in a new country, learning about a new country," Guillermo argued.

Kara acknowledged how they had entirely different perspectives on everything.

"With what happened today, my guess would be no second date," Kara noted.

PATRICK and THAIS

Patrick's brother John arrived at the castle to join the therapy sessions and hopefully fix his relationship with Thais.


"I'm terrified. Inviting John to a castle is like inviting a bull to a china shop. It's not going to end well," Patrick explained to the cameras.

"But if I have to list out the pros and cons of John coming here, like, a pro would just be good conversations that lead to some type of understanding. Cons would be him just screaming, fighting and making Thais cry -- and making things even worse."

John teased how he had some things to talk to his brother about. John shared how he often spoke to Thais' father, Carlos, and things weren't adding up.

John wondered, for instance, why Thais had "a secret surgery" when she was typically open with Patrick about all of her medical procedures.

"Let's be honest, Thais is not the most honest person. What else has she been lying about?" John questioned.

Meanwhile, Thais called John "unpredictable," and so she didn't know how the therapy sessions were going to turn out.


When Patrick, John and Thais had their first therapy session, John said he didn't like being told what to do and Thais had criticized him when they first met for drinking beer too early in the morning.

John also explained how he spoke with volume and authority -- but that didn't mean he was angry.

Thais shared how she felt like John didn't like her and wanted the pair to get a divorce. Thais claimed that she always welcomed John into her home yet John ignored her.

"It's awkward and weird for me, and very disrespectful," Thais said.

Patrick agreed that John never even said "hi" to Thais when he walked in the door, and John explained how he couldn't be fake with people.

"In my family, you say hello and you're gone. You don't spend time with us, and I've got to be honest, respect is earned with me," John explained.

Patrick told John that Thais was his wife and simple "hello" could've made a difference.

"He has a toxic, toxic, horrible relationship with his girlfriend," Thais revealed to the therapist.

John recalled how Thais had traveled to Brazil and went out to a club while she was there. Thais said it was a burger place -- not a bar -- and that her two-year-old daughter Aleesi was with her.

"It's kind of hard to figure out all the translations, but then I thought when I interpreted it, he mentioned 'ex,'" John blurted out.

Thais said John was "trying to start sh-t" and it was going to "blow everything" up.


"Did you see you ex in Brazil?" Patrick asked Thais.

"What ex?" Thais asked. "I don't know what you guys are talking about."

John said he was trying to protect his brother, but Patrick said he was 35-years-old and didn't need to be protected.

John said it was concerning that Thais had lied to Patrick about going under the knife.

As John started raising his voice and yelling, Thais screamed and stormed out of the session. Patrick yelled at his brother never to talk to his wife like that again.

SARPER and SHEKINAH

Sarper complained to Shekinah about how there was "so much tension" between her and the rest of the cast.


Sarper vented about how he was dealing with a lot, and he believed Shekinah's pride came before everything.

"If we cannot try, because of these circumstances, we cannot see the result," Sarper said.

Shekinah claimed Thais had "tried to attack her" and wasn't sorry about it. Shekinah therefore didn't feel the need to apologize.

Shekinah suggested that Thais was "a psycho," and she lamented about how no one was listening to her.

"I really believed that Sarper was on my side, but now I'm worried that Sarper isn't understanding my concerns," Shekinah told the cameras.

"It doesn't seem like we're on the same team any more, and if my own husband doesn't understand me, I feel completely alone, like the whole world is against me.


Sarper asked Shekinah to forget about Thais and just relax, but Shekinah had trouble focusing on the therapy when all of the other couples were coming for her.

"I don't feel heard. I don't feel protected," Shekinah complained.

"For the first time in your life, follow my lead," Sarper demanded.

Shekinah admitted to Sarper that she felt "unsafe," and so Sarper recommended they should just be "finished" with the process and return to America.

"She is a cancer in this group getting everyone against me. Why do I have to go?" Shekinah clapped back.

Sarper asked Shekinah to focus on their problems and try to save their relationship.


But Shekinah shared how she didn't feel like she could speak her mind. She asked Sarper to simply "agree to disagree."

"I'm silenced," Shekinah noted.

JENNY and SUMIT

Jenny explained to a therapist how marriage didn't seem to mean anything to her husband.

Sumit said he was just trying to be honest, but Jenny accused Sumit lying both to her and his parents to "keep the peace."

REBECCA and ZIED

Rebecca and Zied were barely speaking after doing their puppet-therapy homework.

Rebecca said she wasn't enjoying the silence but she also didn't think she needed to be the person to apologize.


"If I'm not a real wife for him, maybe he's out there looking for the right one," Rebecca noted, before adding, "He needs his ass kick. That's the solution for everything."
