The Bachelorette alum Kaitlyn Bristowe has explained why she and fiance Jason Tartick have been dragging their feet when it comes to planning their wedding.

The Season 11 The Bachelorette star accepted a marriage proposal from Jason, who appeared on The Bachelorette's fourteenth season starring Becca Kufrin, in May 2021.

Although Kaitlyn and Jason are nearing the two-year anniversary of their engagement and fans can't wait for them to get married, Kaitlyn admitted she and Jason, well, can wait!

When asked about her upcoming nuptials on the February 5 episode of "The Most Dramatic Podcast Ever with Chris Harrison," Kaitlyn confessed with a laugh, "We suck."

"Honestly, any time we sit down to talk about [the wedding], we literally want to do something else," Kaitlyn said of her dynamic with Jason at home in Nashville, TN.

"And that sounds so terrible because it should be a priority, but it doesn't feel like one -- and we're both okay with that."

Chris, who hosted The Bachelor franchise for nearly two decades, assured his friend, "That's all that matters," and Kaitlyn agreed.

"I feel like there's so much noise, like, 'Why aren't you guys talking about the wedding? Why is there not a wedding happening?!'" Kaitlyn shared.

"And it's like, 'I don't need to prove my relationship through a wedding.' I don't know, I just don't."

Kaitlyn and Jason were initially hoping to tie the knot by the end of 2022, possibly with a grand New Year's Eve wedding, but the year has come and gone -- and the couple is still unwed.

Kaitlyn, however, debunked breakup rumors last month, and she let Chris know that her relationship is doing just fine.

"We both literally sat down the other day to maybe go through [our friends] and start a guest list," Kaitlyn recalled of her night with Jason, "and then we saw Yahtzee and a bottle of wine, and we were like, 'Should we just play Yahtzee and drink wine instead?'"

"And so that's what we did!" Kaitlyn said with a laugh. "And we had the best time."

Kaitlyn, who's still happy and in love, apparently wishes fans could just be happy for her.

"Why is it so hard for people to understand that?" Kaitlyn vented on Chris' podcast. "I make it about them [when I shouldn't]."

Chris pointed out how it's not about what other people think and feel, nor is it about articles written about the couple.

"You'll get there, or guess what? If you don't, so you're Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn the rest of your life... You're eternally 'dating,'" Chris said, adding, "Who cares?!"

Chris said whether or not Kaitlyn and Jason ever choose to get married, it'll be a great decision as long as it works for the both of them and they stay on the same page.

"Right! Right!" Kaitlyn agreed, before thanking Chris for his advice.

Kaitlyn told People in November that she'd like to have three wedding dresses for her big day, but she and Jason had yet to set a wedding date.

Kaitlyn voiced last year how she and Jason have just been "enjoying" their engagement, and she seemed more focused on having children than walking down the aisle.

"We'll do a little fast-track to fam [after exchanging vows]," Kaitlyn told Us Weekly in Summer 2022, adding how she'd love to have three kids.

The Season 29 Dancing with the Stars champion and Jason got engaged in Spring 2021 during an episode of Kaitlyn's "Off the Vine" podcast.

Kaitlyn got the ball rolling on her wedding plans before leaving for the Dancing with the Stars 2022 winter tour in January 2022.

"I was like, 'Jason, we got to lock down a wedding planner because once I'm gone, I'm not gonna be able to do much and I'm not too picky about things,'" Kaitlyn told Entertainment Tonight at the time.

"I'll let the wedding planner, as long as I trust them, do their thing, so hopefully that will make it easier."

Kaitlyn, who co-hosted The Bachelorette's seventeenth and eighteenth seasons with Tayshia Adams, had initially planned on a Summer 2022 wedding.

"I just know that basically as soon as we can get the ball rolling, I want it to be a Great Gatsby-like, black-tie event -- very glam, which is so opposite of what I thought I would want," Kaitlyn revealed in June 2021.

"Because four years ago, I would have been like, 'I want bohemian. I want it farm-style.' I just keep changing my mind."

Kaitlyn had previously been engaged to her The Bachelorette 11 winner Shawn Booth, but the pair announced their split in November 2018 after three years of dating.

Kaitlyn first met Jason while taping an episode of her "Off the Vine" podcast in October 2018, and he took her out on their first date in January 2019.

Jason -- who finished Becca's The Bachelorette season in third place in 2018 -- moved from his place in Seattle to live with Kaitlyn in Nashville in June 2019. The couple has since adopted two dogs together.

Prior to starring on The Bachelorette, Kaitlyn failed to win Chris Soules' heart on The Bachelor's nineteenth season.
