Already a popular Simon Cowell-like critic on Cowell's popular Idol-like The X-Factor British reality competition series, Sharon Osbourne may be taking her expertise as a talent scout across the Atlantic.

Osbourne, the wife of singer Ozzy Osbourne and former The Osbournes star, is reportedly being considered as a replacement for first season America's Got Talent judge Brandy Norwood, The New York Post reported Wednesday.

Last December, Norwood caused a four-car accident on a Los Angeles freeway that resulted in the death of motorist Awatef Aboudihaj.  Now Aboudihaj's two sons have filed wrongful death lawsuits against Norwood, and the Los Angeles city attorney's office is still deciding if she should be charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter.

While there is no timetable for when Norwood's legal troubles will be settled, America's Got Talent producers -- which include Cowell, the show's creator -- are reportedly "concerned about the negative impact of having the pop singer on the show."  NBC officials declined comment to The Post on Tuesday, but with America's Got Talent scheduled to return for a second season this summer, the show's producers obviously need to find a replacement sooner rather than later.

Since Cowell not only produces The X-Factor but, like Osbourne, also serves as a member of thritish show's judging panel, he's already very familiar with what Osbourne would bring to his America's Got Talent series (per his contract with American Idol, Cowell is not allowed to appear on-screen in any non-Fox American television projects).  According to studio sources, "talks are ongoing," The Post reported.

America's Got Talent's second season will already have one new face when it premieres this summer.  Earlier this month, NBC announced that former Dancing with the Stars contestant Jerry Springer will replace first season host host Regis Philbin.
