Peter Weber has responded to Kelley Flanagan's confessions about their breakup, which included Kelley saying Peter wasn't keeping his promises and changing for her in their relationship.

Kelley opened up on Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe in March and revealed there were "non-negotiables" in her relationship with Peter -- including respect and communication -- and she was looking for Peter to act on his words.

Peter addressed Kelley's comments during an interview with E! News and said, "You know it was a great relationship and I'll always care so deeply for her."

Peter didn't get into detail about why things didn't work out with Kelley from his perspective.

"You know, the relationship ended up not working out in the long run, and that's okay," Peter said, "and I learned so much from her and I'm so thankful that she came in my life. I truly want nothing but all the best things for her."

Peter and Kelley announced their breakup via Instagram on New Year's Eve, and Kelley said the couple didn't talk for about a week but then they tried to give their relationship another shot at Peter's request.

After a brief reconciliation, Kelley and Peter decided to part ways and call it quits on their relationship once and for all around Valentine's Day in February.

Peter and Kelley initially planned to move to New York City together, but now the pair are living separately in the Big Apple. Peter is currently sharing an apartment with fellow The Bachelorette alum Dustin Kendrick and the guys are starting a new "Bachelors in the City" podcast.

Although Kelley is so close by, Peter told E! News that he has no plans to reach out to the former Chicago-based attorney, which shuts down rumors the pair have been hanging out in New York.

"Obviously, I wish her well and everything. I just want her to be happy, more than anything, but... we're not in contact anymore," Peter revealed.

"But definitely, I'm always rooting for her and want her to find her happiness."

In Kelley's March interview with The Bachelorette's Season 11 star Kaitlyn Bristowe, Kelley said of her revived romance with Peter, "If I could put it in the best way, I think that on my end, there was just a lot of non-negotiables in the relationship."

"Actions kind of speak louder than words and it takes a long time to figure that out," she explained at the time, according to E! News.

"If there was something that I saw as disrespectful in the relationship, I would speak on it and I was pretty vocal. Communication is huge in a relationship and there were things where I would essentially be like, 'Hey, this makes me feel like s--t. This makes me feel like this way.'"

Kelley explained things "weren't really changing" and she and Peter were "definitely struggling and having hard times."

"There was a lot of push back from both ends," Kelley recalled.

"I essentially asked him if I could have a couple of days to process it myself before we let the entire world know and I wanted to tell my family and my friends and just be able to process it within myself before I have it on blast... that necessarily wasn't granted."

But Kelley may have already found herself a new man. She is rumored to have "turned down Bachelor in Paradise because she is dating someone," according to an E! News source.

Meanwhile, Peter recently told Us Weekly that he's "not seriously dating at all" and is just having a good time in his new city.

"I've definitely had a whirlwind of two years there in the dating department and may have been chasing relationships for a little bit too long, but I still haven't lost any faith," Peter shared.

"I have all the faith in the world that my person is out there and we're going to have a beautiful, beautiful life together. Just haven't found her yet."

Peter sent Kelley home in fifth place on The Bachelor's 24th season before he visited his Final 4 bachelorettes' hometowns to meet their families.

During The Bachelor's Season 24 finale on March 10, 2020, Kelley -- who was sitting in the audience for the live special -- watched an indecisive Peter break off an engagement to fiancee Hannah Ann Sluss and then reconcile with his supposed true love and runner-up, Madison Prewett.

Peter and Madison never got their relationship off the ground and announced just two days later on March 12 that they were going their separate ways.

After a couple of chance-encounters, like at the Super Bowl in 2020 for instance, Peter and Kelley reunited to quarantine with each other as "friends" in Chicago in late March 2020.

Following weeks of dating rumors, Peter and Kelley went Instagram official on May 2, 2020 when "Pilot Pete" posted a photo of the couple embracing in the cockpit of a plane.

Peter and Kelley announced their first breakup in December 2020, and an insider told Us at the time the pair's personalities simply "didn't mix" and they fought frequently.

However, the source said Peter never cheated on Kelley.
