During Tuesday night's episode of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, Tristan sat down with host Jamie Otis to discuss the timeline of events of Mia's detainment in a Texas airport.

"We were in line and my ticket went through, and she was right behind me, and her ticket started flashing or whatever. And we were like, 'That's weird. Try it again.' So the lady tried it again and again, and she was just like, 'Sorry, there's an issue. Just give us a couple minutes,'" Tristan explained.

"And then the lady comes back and says, 'Hey, there was just a problem with your ticket. We're going to upgrade you guys to First Class and we'll have you on your way in a couple of minutes.'"

Mia, a 29-year-old airline recruiter, and Tristan, a 29-year-old former collegiate and semi-pro basketball player who recently started a tutoring business, had just exchanged vows after meeting for the first time on-camera for Season 7 of Married at First Sight.

Tristan barely knew anything about his new wife, and he had to watch police take her away.

"[When] the police officers come in, they approach me, and they're like, 'Sir, who are you?' And I'm like, 'Ugh, Tristan and this is my wife, Mia.' And then they said, 'Sir, don't you know what you're doing is a felony?' I was like, 'What? What are you talking about?' And he was like, 'Well, your wife has a warrant out for her arrest,'" Tristan recalled.

An arrest warrant had been issued in early February after Mia's alleged ex-boyfriend, Jared Evans, claimed she had stalked him on multiple occasions in the 13 months that followed their December 2016 break-up and also made an unauthorized purchase of an Apple iPhone on his credit card a year after their split.

Tristan therefore clarified police thought he was breaking the law because it appeared as though he was helping his wife get out of the country.

"I said, 'Is this a joke?' And he said, 'No, sir.' And Mia's like -- I'm looking at her and she is like dumbfounded. She's speechless," Tristan told Jamie.

"And they said, 'If you come with us quietly, we won't have to put you in handcuffs.' That's what they're saying to Mia. And then I'm like, 'Mia, we will just figure it out.' And so these people were taking her and I'm going into customs, and I'm not even allowed in the same room as her."

Mia subsequently spent two days in custody until she could reunite with her concerned and overwhelmed husband, and Tristan called the situation overall "miserable."

When Mia was finally released from custody, she gave Married at First Sight's cameras an explanation that was a bit strange and confusing, saying the allegations against her in the arrest warrant were "100 percent false" and the incident was the result of "a complete mistake of identity."

Mia also initally told Tristan that she had never heard of the man who had filed the stalking claims before changing her story and claiming she knew "of him" because they lived in the same small town.

But once Mia and Tristan enjoyed a mini-moon in Dallas, Mia revealed the truth to her husband days later.

"So last night, Mia and I were talking in bed and she came clean there were some things that she just was not honest about in regards to her arrest," Tristan said in a confessional during Tuesday night's Married at First Sight episode.

"She does know the accuser, and they did have a brief relationship, and this is why she felt embarrassed to tell me. Even though I appreciate her honesty, it still really hurt that it took her all week just to come clean and tell me... Secrets kill. The trust has been broken."

However, the Married at First Sight episode concluded with Tristan choosing to continue working on his marriage and remain Mia's husband. The couple was starting to fall in love with each other, and Tristan determined it was important to support Mia when she needed him most.
