Married at First Sight star Tristan Thompson can't believe he and Mia Bally even made it to "Decision Day" -- never mind the fact they chose to stay married at the end of the eight-week experiment.

During a recent appearance on Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, hosted by Season 1 MAFS participant Jamie Otis, Tristan opened up about how divorce seemed like a likely option early in the process.

Looking back on Mia's shocking March 27 arrest and arguments the couple had over trust as a result, Jamie asked Tristan on Unfiltered, "Did you even think it was possible to make it to 'Decision Day' and stay married?"

"Looking back, no," Tristan admitted of his marriage to Mia.

"Looking at how devastated I was, you know, we had just celebrated our union, our families coming together, and we all came across crying and hugging and laughing and enjoying. And then now, seeing the day afterwards and having all of those emotions kind of like, 'Oh my goodness!' It was a bombshell."

Not only did Mia get arrested on stalking charges right before the couple's honeymoon and subsequently appear to have an active profile listed on a dating app, but she also disappeared during a weekend getaway with Tristan during which she had also threatened divorce.

"That's just amazing that I was able to get to 'Decision Day' and say, 'Yes,'" Tristan told Jamie.

Tristan, however, made his own share of mistakes with Mia on Married at First Sight, as he struggled to forgive, forget and move forward from their disagreements.

Mia often accused Tristan of not listening to her, talking over her, and making decisions without consultation.

Mia also vented about how Tristan didn't appreciate the sacrifices she was making for him, such as moving to Houston, TX, to benefit his career.

The reunion special for Season 7 of Married at First Sight airs Tuesday night at 9PM ET/PT on Lifetime, and each couple is expected to provide fans with an update on their relationship.

However, Reality TV World previously reported Mia filed for divorce from Tristan on September 4 in Dallas, TX, according to Dallas County court records.

"The marriage has become insupportable due to discord or conflict of personalities that destroys the legitimate ends of the marital relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation," Mia's attorney Bruce Kaye stated in a copy of the Dallas County court filing obtained by RadarOnline.

Although the phrasing may sound ominous, insupportability is the basis upon which Texas courts grant the vast majority of the state's divorce cases.
