Married at First Sight star Michaela apparently believes her husband Zack was going out of his way to not resolve their first fight as a couple.

Michaela and Zack's marriage started off on a high note, with both spouses convinced they had wed their perfect match. But after Zack's COVID-19 diagnosis and about a week apart, their relationship started to crumble.

During the September 8 episode of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, Michaela watched back a Season 13 clip of Zack dishing his feelings about their first explosive fight after the couple had hosted a successful housewarming party together in their new Houston apartment.

Still coping from the fallout of Michaela's anger and overreaction to his lack of communication while running errands one morning, Zack tells his wife in the clip, "Why not take a step back for a second because we have a fundamental difference in how we handle certain things that it's too big of a difference for me right now."

Michaela replies, "I already apologized and I've admitted that I was f-cking wrong."

"I don't know how to make you understand that this is something new to me," she explains. "I'm not saying you're wrong and I'm not saying you're right, but I'm saying that I'm sorry!"

Zack proceeds to ask Michaela if she's staying at their apartment that evening, and she says, "Yes."

"I honestly don't want to," Zack admits.

"Alright, that's fine," Michaela says.

"I don't want to," Zack reiterates, before Michaela walks away and shuts herself inside their bedroom.

After watching the footage back, Michaela told Unfiltered host Jamie Otis, "Obviously it sucks because I remember that night and my feelings were hurt."

"I was like, 'I'm trying to apologize. I'm trying to communicate with you. I'm trying to figure it out.' And he's just not letting up on me."

Michaela acknowledged, "I get over stuff really quickly, [quicker] than, I guess, the average person and my husband."

Jamie -- who starred on Season 1 of Married at First Sight and is still married to her match, Doug Hehner -- therefore asked Michaela, "Does it feel like Zack is going out of his way not to resolve this issue?"

"Yeah," Michaela noted. "It's like I can't get back from what I did wrong. To him, I am my mistakes."

Jamie pointed out, "That sucks," and then two of Michaela's Married at First Sight co-stars, Gil Cuero and Ryan, shared their perspectives on the situation.

"I understand that she's apologetic, but you know, for Zack, what it seems like, it takes him some time," Gil reasoned.

"And like [Michaela] says, she gets over it a lot quicker. And that's where I think the miscommunication is, is that, 'Okay, you get over it quicker but I don't, so I need to adjust a little bit.'"

And Ryan could apparently empathize with Michaela.

"I think you handled yourself well," Ryan shared, before joking, "You shut the door slow and didn't slam the door."

Jamie poked fun at the "hurricane" side of Michaela's personality, but Michaela assured viewers with a big smile, "That wasn't 'Hurricane Chae' at all! That was just a light mist."

After the cast members laughed, Ryan continued, "I mean, you apologized, you didn't escalate the situation, and you walked away when you needed to walk away."

Jamie added, "And obviously of course your feelings are hurt because... you bounce back from your issues differently and he just needs time."

Michaela, however, was holding out hope she and Zack could eventually bounce back from their fight.

"I do, I have a little bit of hope that we'll be able to figure it out," Michaela said.

"We had such an amazing wedding and for the first few days of our honeymoon when we were together, we had an amazing time."

Michaela went on to suggest that "real life" is very different from the fairy-tale way her marriage to Zack had started out, when the pair were completely smitten with each other and in total bliss about their seemingly-perfect union.

"I do understand that now we're in real life, and I'm stressed out and it's weird and this is a stranger," Michaela admitted on Unfiltered.

"So I know that I still have to go back and jump back in and not do the things that I would do before. And so I'm trying that out."

Jamie insisted a little bit of hope "can go a long way" in the Married at First Sight process.

During the latest Season 13 episode of Married at First Sight, Michaela admitted to Zack that he was justified in feeling hurt and abandoned when she chose to pack up and leave their apartment following their first disagreement.

Michaela insisted she was "all in" and really wanted to make their marriage work.

But Zack shared with Michaela how he worried their relationship was going to be a repeat of his past -- when ex-girlfriends would have dramatic and outlandish reactions to events -- and their problem was bigger than communication.

"It's how we handle conflict," Zack said. "And that's something I don't know how we can change. I'm honestly scared to tell you how I feel right now, because I'm scared you'll blow up."

Zack confessed that he couldn't eat and didn't feel good at all.

"When I pulled up [to our housewarming party], I got anxiety. I did not want to come in here," Zack told Michaela. "I felt horrible. It was more anxiety than the wedding day, I kid you not."

Michaela apologized and wanted to make things right, but she wondered how long it was going to take for Zack to come around.

Zack wasn't sure how to fix the problem and recalled how Michaela initially threatening to cancel their housewarming party took him "over the top."

Michaela said in tears that she had no idea canceling the housewarming party would upset Zack as much as it did.

Zack acknowledged that part of marriage is figuring things out and sometimes taking time apart from each other.

"I feel horrible right now, and I can't fake it. I'm sorry," Zack told Michaela.

Zack proceeded to tell the cameras that he felt "heartbroken" because he had been hoping to find The One and his forever partner on Married at First Sight.

"I've wanted this my whole life and so it's definitely hurtful. I'm definitely not happy about where we are. At this moment, I don't know if we'll be able to resolve this," Zack explained.

Zack decided to leave the apartment for the night because he didn't feel comfortable staying with Michaela. Zack said he felt anxious and uncomfortable in a situation he simply didn't want to be in.
