In addition, the network has also confirmed Married at First Sight's eighth season will feature participants from Philadelphia, PA and Dr. Jessica Griffin, Dr. Pepper Schwartz and Pastor Calvin Roberson will return as the show's panel of experts for the new season.

Lifetime had announced Married at First Sight's eighth season would premiere in January during the show's Season 7 finale broadcast which aired last month, however the edition's premiere date, filming location and expert panel had not been disclosed.

The October promo also teased Married at First Sight's eighth season will be the "biggest season" yet, but did not provide any explanation for the billing -- leaving viewers to speculate if the Season 8's marriage experiment may last longer than the usual eight-week duration, or if it may feature more than three couples.

Married at First Sight had announced casting for the new edition was underway in April, with producers looking for courageous singles from Philadelphia to participate in the extreme social experiment.

The Married at First Sight application had asked applicants if they would be available for interviews in July, and postings that the season has been filming in the Philadelphia area have surfaced on social media this fall.

In late August, Dr. Jessica also shared photos of herself and Dr. Pepper posing in front of Philadelphia's "LOVE" sculpture landmark on Instagram.

Married at First Sight typically changes its filming location each season, and previous editions have filmed in cities including Atlanta, GA; Miami, FL; Chicago, IL; and Boston, MA. The most recent edition was filmed in Dallas, TX.

A casting application seeking singles from Charlotte, NC was also recently announced on Married at First Sight's casting pages on Lifetime's website and Facebook.

Married at First Sight features experts matching up pairs of strangers based on their compatibility, goals, hobbies, religion, views of marriage, and more.

After meeting for the first time at their wedding ceremony, each couple gets married and the next eight weeks of their lives are documented -- beginning with their wedding ceremony, reception and honeymoon, and continuing with the joys and struggles of daily life as they move in together and adjust to their new life as a married couple.

Married at First Sight's seventh season ended with the season's three participating couples -- Tristan Thompson and Mia Bally, Dave Flaherty and Amber Martorana, and Bobby Dodd and Danielle Bergman -- all deciding to stay married on "Decision Day," the day each couple, having reached the end of the eight-week experiment, must decide whether to still remain married or divorce.

However, during a reunion show which aired on Lifetime a week after the "Decision Day" finale broadcast aired, two of the couples -- Tristan and Mia, and Dave and Amber -- announced they had subsequently decided to divorce.

The reunion also revealed that not only is Bobby and Danielle's marriage continuing smoothly, but the couple is also currently expecting their first child.

Bobby and Danielle are now currently co-starring on Married at First Sight: Happily Ever After, a new spinoff series that follows the lives of the couple and two additional Married at First Sight success-story couples from prior seasons.
