Wedding Nights

The third broadcast of Season 8 kicked off with the couples enjoying their wedding nights.

While sex is expected on the wedding night for typical couples, these pairings of strangers just met and so physical intimacy right off the bat might be awkward.

Luke and Kate didn't engage in much conversation and it was clear they were nervous around each other and didn't know how to act. Luke suggested he could sleep on the couch, but Kate gave him permission to join her in the bed.

Luke intended to take their relationship slowly, and Kate told the cameras, "My wedding night is not what I expected. I think he's a little bit shy, but it's just the beginning of our marriage. So I really hope it gets less awkward."

Meanwhile, AJ and Stephanie were very comfortable around each other, and AJ said he felt like he had known his wife for about a week already.

"The romantic connection between me and my wife is clearly there. I can't get enough of her. We have kissed each other at least a dozen or more times throughout the night... The chances of us having sex tonight is pretty good," AJ said in a confessional.

Stephanie felt a strong connection with AJ as well, and she looked forward to getting to know him better.

And Jasmine was looking forward to being alone and intimate with her new husband. Even though Will just met his wife, he was definitely physically attracted to her and thought she had a great sense of humor. Will also found Jasmine to be easy to talk to.

"We are going to let things flow. The attraction is there, so if [sex] happens, it happens," Jasmine said in a confessional.

As for Kristine and Keith's relationship, Kristine said sexual intimacy is very important and if the chemistry isn't there, then the marriage probably wouldn't work out. Kristine wanted this to last forever, and she was very optimistic.

"I'm not going to say nothing is happening tonight on my wedding day, but I'm going to leave that up to her," Keith said. "If she does want to have sex, let's do it! I have no problem with that!"

As for Kate and Luke, she was glad Luke agreed to sleep in the same bed.

"I definitely wouldn't describe our relationship as love at first sight," Luke confessed, "but Kate is my wife, and I'm very excited for the future because I think over time, it will feel more natural."

All of the couples cuddled in bed, except Kate and Luke appeared to keep their hands to themselves.

Day 2

On Day 2 of marriage, Kristine joked that Keith snored but they sweetly snuggled all night, and AJ noted he woke up with a big smile.

Jasmine revealed she and Will kissed but they didn't progress past that point. Regardless, she said Married at First Sight was making her dreams come true because she really liked her husband.

Jasmine was receptive to Will's joking around, so he was also happy their personalities were "meshing."

That morning, Keith called his wife "spicy" and loved how she's "the life of the party." They didn't, however, have sex.

Kristine told Keith that she didn't want to change her name yet because the process felt "surreal" but she had high hopes for their marriage and was taking it very seriously.

Kate and Luke were beginning to feel more comfortable around each other, laughing and cracking jokes. Kate was ready for this big commitment because she was simply tired of dating.

"So far, it feels so right so far. This is what I have been looking for. I know it's just the morning after, and I can't say this for sure, but I can see the possibility of falling [for him]," Kate said.

And Luke said Kate has "a very great personality."

"There's a lot of things where I can see why we were matched. She has a lot of qualities that I know I've asked for and look for in a partner. She's very family oriented and she's definitely super personable," Luke explained.

"So at this point, I'm feeling optimistic about our future."

Meanwhile, AJ gushed about he no longer felt like Stephanie was a stranger when they woke up next to each other. They didn't have sex, but AJ said he felt "smitten" with her and they built upon their communication.

Honeymoons in Costa Rica

The couples then headed to Costa Rica for their honeymoons, and trust was forming between all of the pairs.

Kristine found Keith attractive, but she's a very active and athletic person, so she was hoping to get him into shape and make him work out with her.

"I do not love working out -- at all. I love working out on the couch. I life remotes all night long, but we are married now and so I will follow her to the ends of the earth. Happy wife, happy life," Keith explained.

As for Luke, he didn't know what to expect from his honeymoon, but he did think his wife was very sweet.

And AJ told the cameras he's a manchild and never wanted to be in a low-energy, low-key relationship.

AJ aspired to always have fun and joke around, and Stephanie seemed to be a good match for him. But Stephanie had never dated a man with such a big personality before.

"In the past, I've always been with people where I'm the more dominant personality, so I wasn't sure whether I should be matched with someone who's as big as me or whether that would make us clash," Stephanie revealed.

"So it's going to be different to be the one to calm him down. I kind of like it, so we'll see how this works out."

Day 3

On Day 3 of marriage, Luke and Kate headed to an animal sanctuary, where they could see some sloths and other animals. Luke said the sloth is his "spirit animal," and Kate was willing to do anything to make Luke happy and make their marriage a success.

Kate admitted the visit was not really her "thing," as she was just hot and tired walking around in the sun, but she was trying to put on a happy face for Luke.

Meanwhile, Jasmine -- who dubbed herself "adventurous" as well as a thrill-seeker -- and Will rented out ATVs and went exploring. Jasmine found it annoying that Will kept asking her to drive faster.

"I'm about to punch him," Jasmine said, before crashing into a tree and finding herself stuck in a pit on the side of the road.

All four couples then met up with each other at the pool so they could lean on each other and receive some support from those who would understand their situations best.

Kate was curious to find out whether the other couples had a similar awkward dynamic, especially because she and Luke didn't have sex yet.

Stephanie noted Jasmine and Will were really cute together and seemed like an excellent match, and Luke said AJ and Stephanie appeared to be "the best couple" of the four.

"It's nice to see them get each other even though AJ is a little bit extra," Luke said in a confessional.

Keith also acknowledged AJ and Stephanie were "a perfect match" and Jasmine and Will were cute together. However, Keith had trouble reading Luke and Kate and figuring out whether their personalities worked well together.

"Watching the other couples, it's a little frustrating because they seem to have the same sense of humor," Kate told the cameras.

"They are talking so much and the other wives are super affectionate with their husbands, so I was a little bit jealous about that because it feels Luke and I don't have the same level of affection. And I don't know what to do."

Day 4

On Day 4 of marriage, each couple participated in a different activity.

Stephanie said her romance with AJ was "easy" so far and things just "felt right" between them. And the previous night, the couple slept together for the first time and AJ said nothing felt forced.

"I want to have sex with my husband as often as possible. A couple times a week would be great," Stephanie said, adding that she loved how he made her laugh all the time.

When AJ and Stephanie went snorkeling, AJ admitted he was a little bit insecure about his body in a bathing suit and the type of shape he was in but Stephanie accepted him and liked him the way he was. Both individuals seemed very happy with their partnership because they're so similar.

Jasmine and Will disagree on gender roles

Meanwhile, Jasmine confessed she and Will had issues they needed to navigate but nothing was going to be a dealbreaker.

Will said he didn't believe in traditional gender roles, except he'd be willing to take out the trash and do some "manly" things around the house. He also didn't expect Jasmine to cook for him all the time.

On that note, Will pointed out his idea of marriage was also splitting the bills 50/50 -- but Jasmine whole-heartedly disagreed with that approach. She told the cameras that's "not going to happen."

"The man is supposed to be the head of household. I think 50/50 is not providing," Jasmine shared.

"Right now, Will and I are not what I envisioned in my ideal marriage. If we can't get on the same level when it comes to gender roles, it's not going to work."

Jasmine admitted she wouldn't mind cooking every night if it meant her husband was paying the bills, which surprised Will because she called herself an "independent woman."

Jasmine wanted a provider and protector to come in and take over her burdens, asking Will if their bills could be split 70/30. She then said Will would come home to a clean house and she'd take care of him.

"I'm worried me and Jasmine have fundamental differences. Everything in our marriage is not going to be peachy, and it's not going to be smooth sailing," Will confessed. "This is not what I signed up for. Hopefully we can come to some compromise or resolution."

Kate confronts Luke about not kissing her

The episode concluded with Kristine and Keith enjoying a romantic, hot bath together and Kate and Luke dining out at a restaurant. Kate said Luke checked all of her boxes because he was caring and considerate.

However, Kate and Luke had yet to kiss because Luke wanted to establish a friendship first. She just hoped a friendship would blossom into the physical connection she desired.

Luke wasn't surprised things were "a little rocky" between them in the beginning. For instance, he told his wife that he didn't like the fact she smoked cigarettes occasionally, but then Kate insisted she'd quit for him and it would be no problem.

Kate then admitted to Luke at dinner she thought it was odd he hadn't tried to kiss her yet. She wanted to be in an affectionate relationship.

Kate knew she was making Luke feel uncomfortable, but she felt it was necessary to talk about it. Luke told the cameras he's just "not into kissing strangers" and it's just not who he is.
