'Big Brother': Kamu wins Power of Veto and betrays allies, Angela confesses her secret

Big Brother featured Kamuela "Kamu" Kirk winning the Power of Veto after Angela Murray and Haley Thogmartin destroyed their friendship during the Season 28 episode that aired Wednesday night on CBS.


The Big Brother broadcast began on Day 32 following the Nomination Ceremony in which the new Head of Household, La Trice "Lala" Verrett, had nominated Haley, Barrett Pfeiffer, and Chuk Anyanwu for eviction.

"Barrett is a pawn, and he is a floater. Choose a side, baby!" Lala quipped in the Diary Room.

"Ultimately, Haley is my target this week. I put her next to Chuk because one without the other, how are they going to survive? They're not happy with me at all!"


Barrett said Lala had said she loved him, but he didn't believe that was true because she had decided to nominate him. The move apparently didn't make any sense to Barrett, and he didn't know where he stood with the HoH.

Haley, meanwhile, lamented about how she was being dragged through the game and should've put Lala on the chopping block when she had a chance.

While Chuk acknowledged that Haley is a "beautiful lady," he insisted that the pair were just friends and so Lala was "dazed and confused" about what was going on in the Big Brother house.

Taylor Brown boasted about how she definitely had a say in Lala's nominations and she was ready to change up the power dynamic in the house.

Taylor hinted to Haley that there may be a "re-nom" situation happening later in the week, and so Haley -- unaware that she was Lala's actual target -- feared that Kamu was going to be the replacement nominee if someone managed to remove him or herself from the chopping block.


"My goal this week is to make sure that the trio is not on the block together, so if Barrett comes down and Kamu goes up in his place, that's the absolute worst case scenario," Haley explained to the Big Brother cameras.

Kamu mentioned how "The Toolshed" alliance was "dead" and so he needed to find people he could trust in the game. He noted how Lala seemed to be one of the people he could depend on.

While Melody Morris and Mallory Aurichio were walking around in leaf bikinis, Dee Valladares, Rick Devens and Angela discussed how they were in a good place, sitting pretty in the middle of a handful of different alliances.

One of those alliances was "The Red Corner," which was comprised of Dee, Devens, Kamu, Chuk and Haley.

Chuk told Lala that everyone thought she was on Big Brother for fun and didn't know how to play the game, but Lala bragged about how that had been her strategy from the start.


Lala assured Chuk that she was just a pawn, but he didn't know if he could trust her.

Devens, meanwhile, told the cameras that he knew Dee had a power and she wasn't telling anyone about it. When Devens pushed for the truth, Dee finally caved and admitted she had won the "BB Bribe."

Dee was convinced that Devens would never spill this secret, and so she felt good about finally being honest with him.

And Haley was trying to figure out who had lied to her about the Lyric Medeiros vote. Haley had no idea that Angela, who was in her alliance, was "the flipper." Haley suspected that Dee was the culprit.


"Haley is completely stressing me out right now. She's not letting this vote go. She thinks it's Dee. She completely trusts me," Angela explained in the Diary Room.

"But if my lie doesn't get out and she doesn't hear it from me, I'm really afraid that our friendship will be over, and I don't really know if I can bear that."

Haley told the cameras that she knew "for a fact" Angela never lied to her because they were "ride or die" allies.

She also still thought that Lala was targeting Kamu as a backdoor option.

"This may sound a little bit crazy, but I have a plan to get us out of this mess," Haley told the Big Brother cameras.


"If Chuk or I win this Veto, we don't use it. Because the last thing that we want is Kamu getting put up as a replacement nominee," Haley shared.

"Now using the Veto on ourselves would show The Red Corner alliance that we're willing to put our games at risk to keep one of our best competitors, Kamu, safe."

However, Haley didn't know that Lala and Kamu were actually working together -- and that Kamu predicted Haley's game was in trouble.

Angela, worried her secret was eventually going to blow up her game, went up to Haley crying and repeated, "I'm sorry."

Angela confessed to Haley that she had flipped on her and voted for Lyric to go home, and Haley admitted she felt so "hurt" and was completely shocked by this news. Haley told Angela it was "okay," but then she walked away from her.

Haley shared the revelation with Chuk and noted how someone else was also lying. Haley believed Dee was behind the betrayal as well.


Angela advised Dee to show "moral heart" and tell the truth. Dee was upset Angela had spilled the beans, but she figured Haley was going to be more upset and focused on at Angela going forward.

Once Haley had time to think about Angela's shocking move, she became increasingly more angry. Haley vented to Angela about how they were supposed to ride together until the end, and Angela was speechless.

Angela apologized to Chuk and Kamu afterward, and so Kamu was glad that she had cleared his name from the rumors.

It then became time to pick players for the Power of Veto competition. In addition to the HoH and the three nominees, Chuk picked Kamu to play and Dee was selected at random to play.

Dee was then shown admitting to Kamu that she had voted to evict Lyric. Dee said she needed Kamu to be a shield for her going forward and so she needed to make sure their relationship was solid. She was optimistic he'd be able to move past this.

Dee warned Kamu that she was going to continue to lie to Haley, and she also dropped the bombshell on him about her power. Dee begged Kamu not to say anything, and she thought he could be an asset to her long-term.

Kamu subsequently confirmed in the Diary Room that what happened before was "water under the bridge" and he wanted to keep working with Dee in the game.

Since Angela had confessed to Haley, Haley knew that either Dee or Yash had also betrayed her. Dee was playing it cool, but Haley made it known she was skeptical of Dee's loyalty.

Haley then called Angela out for "f-cking" her entire alliance, and Angela sobbed about her mistake.

Haley announced in front of the group that Angela had thrown Dee's name under the bus, but Angela called Haley "a liar" and started screaming about how she didn't do that.

"That's a malicious lie!" Angela repeatedly yelled.


Haley admitted she had lied to the group in a confessional, but she didn't care about the consequences since her friendship with Angela had already soured.

Haley also bickered with Lala, and she excused herself from the conversation before things got "ugly."

"I am praying that Haley does not win this Veto... She's got to get the heck up out of this house! Now let's be respectful," Lala said in the Diary Room.

The houseguests then sat at the dining table and time traveled to August 1977, where a disco-themed Power of Veto competition commenced.

The participating houseguests were required to memorize a pattern of red and green tiles on a dance floor, navigating their way across it by stepping on the green tiles only.

The competition came down to Kamu vs. Barrett, and in the end, Kamu won the golden Power of Veto.


Kamu told Lala that he was going to keep nominations the same. He wanted to prove to most of the house that he was making "big changes" in his game.

Haley and Chuk, however, were anticipating that Kamu was going to use the Veto on one of them.

After Melody, Mallory, Barrett, and Drew Campbell formed "The American People" alliance to fight against the power dynamic in the house, Kamu told Haley and Chuk that he didn't know what he was going to do with the Veto.

Kamu claimed that Lala had threatened to nominate someone he's close with if he chose to use the Veto on one of his friends. 

"There is a world where even if I didn't use it, you both still stay in the game," Kamu told his pals.

Haley broke down into tears about being in a bad position. She really expected Kamu to save her.


"It's the easiest decision ever. If he doesn't use the Veto and I survive, I am going to cause a war on Big Brother," Chuk vented in a confessional.

Kamu told the cameras that he needed to distance himself from Haley and Chuk and so he had no plans to use the Veto.

At the Veto Meeting, Kamu announced he had decided to not use the golden Power of Veto.

"I love all three of you guys and I respect you all very much. I'm really sorry. I just have to do what I feel is best," Kamu explained to his fellow houseguests.

Both Haley and Chuk looked very disappointed, and Chuk admitted in the Diary Room he was totally "stunned" by the decision.

"I'm not going to forget about this, Kamu!" Chuk said.

Haley determined that she was Lala's target for the week, but she insisted she wasn't going to go down without a fight.
