Tedder, who was also an adviser on the singing competition series this season, will work alongside the final three artists as they prepare for their respective performances for the finale.

He will write an original song -- stylized for each artist -- that will be performed at the conclusion of the season Dec. 17.

The single will be available on iTunes immediately following the telecast.

"Ryan is a brilliant songwriter and on the forefront of today's music scene. His contributions to 'The Voice' will be invaluable in both his work with our artists and in creating a song that will capture the essence of our show," Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late night programming for NBC Entertainment, said in a statement Tuesday.
