Rupert, 54, and Laura, 49, who raced as a married couple from Indianapolis, IN, arrived at the second Pit Stop of Season 31 in Luang Prabang, Laos, in last place and were therefore eliminated from the competition.

"I consider myself to be one of the toughest Survivors out there, but The Amazing Race kicked my ass," Rupert said following his ouster.

"The Amazing Race is just one small adventure... we've been married almost 21 years," Laura said, after which Rupert added they hopefully have another couple of decades of adventures awaiting them.

The episode began with former The Amazing Race racers Leo Temory and friend Jamal Zadran being the first team to depart the first Pit Stop in Tokyo at 12:42AM.

The teams learned they must fly from Tokyo, Japan almost 2,500 miles to Luang Prabang, Laos, the only land-locked country in Southeast Asia. And once there, they must travel by tuk-tuk to their next destination, but they couldn't receive the clue until sunrise.

Former The Amazing Race racers Colin Guinn and life partner Christie Woods left in second place at 12:45AM, followed by former The Amazing Race racers Tyler Oakley and friend Korey Kuhl at 12:54AM, and former Big Brother houseguests Rachel Reilly and sister Elissa Slater in fourth place at 1AM.

Former The Amazing Race racers Becca Droz and friend Floyd Pierce departed at 1:04AM, and then former Big Brother houseguests Nicole Franzel and fiance Victor Arroyo left in sixth place at 1:06AM.

Former Big Brother houseguests Janelle Pierzina and friend Britney Haynes weren't far behind them, with for Survivor castaways Chris Hammons and friend Bret LaBelle right on their heels.

Former Survivor castaways Eliza Orlins and friend Corinne Kaplan were the ninth team to depart at 2:06AM, and in last place were Rupert and Laura Boneham, who left at 4:25AM.

Rachel and Elissa thought they were working with "Team Fun" while trying to find a ticket booth, but then Becca and Floyd suddenly took off -- leaving the girls in their dust.

The move made Rachel and Elissa feel like they couldn't rely on the Becca and Floyd for anything going forward.

All of the teams hopped on the same flight, so it didn't matter who had left the first Pit Stop in first or last place.

At 5AM, all of the teams received their next set of clues around the same time. They were instructed to give back to the monks by picking up two baskets at what appeared to be a monastery with items inside to offer up.

Chris and Bret grabbed their baskets first, and they were then followed by Tyler and Korey, Janelle and Britney, Corinne and Eliza, Leo and Jamal, Becca and Floyd, Rupert and Laura, Colin and Christie, Rachel and Elissa, and finally Nicole and Victor.

The Racers showed respect by sitting on the ground and participating in a quick spiritual ritual.

Afterwards, the teams were instructed to run to a nearby river.

Rachel and Elissa ran with Colin and Christie, and Elissa determined the couple had good energy and a positive vibe.

Rachel and Elissa then arrived at a Double U-Turn board in first place. The girls struggled with the choice as other teams were closing in on them, so they quickly decided on Becca and Floyd.

The teams' next set of clues required them to complete one of two possible Detour tasks: "ABC" or "BBQ."

"ABC" required the teams to learn the alphabet and then take an oral exam under the watchful eye of young students in order to receive their next clue.

"BBQ" required teams to properly prepare fish skewers and duck in order to receive their next clue.

Colin and Christie got to the U-Turn board in second place and chose "BBQ," as did Nicole and Victor in third place.

Leo and Jamal arrived at the board next in fourth place, but the guys passed Tyler and Korey's photo to Becca and Floyd so "Team Fun" would get their hands dirty and U-Turn the social-media influencers.

Becca and Floyd did just that. Both teams also chose the BBQ task.

After Corinne and Eliza in sixth place, Tyler and Korey made it to the U-Turn board next but weren't surprised to see their faces.

Janelle and Britney then arrived in eighth place, followed by Chris and Bret, and finally Rupert and Laura in last place.

Corinne and Eliza, Tyler and Korey, and Rupert and Laura chose "ABC," while everyone else opted to barbecue.

Tyler and Korey completed their first Detour in first place, but then they headed to BBQ Alley. Corinne and Eliza finished next but were in the lead since they didn't have to complete the other side of the Detour.

Corinne and Eliza then learned they must travel by tuk-tuk to Elephant Village.

Leo and Jamal completed the Detour in second place, and then they were followed by Nicole and Victor, Becca and Floyd -- who were still behind because they had to head over to the "ABC" task -- Janelle and Britney in fourth place, and Colin and Christie in fifth place.

Rachel and Elissa were running in sixth at this point, and Rupert and Laura in seventh.

Becca and Floyd then completed their second Detour task, running in eighth place.

Bret and Chris left the task in ninth place, and Tyler and Korey were trailing in last place.

At Elephant Village, the teams learned one member from each team must complete a Roadblock task.

For the Roadblock at the elephant conservation center, the participating Racers had to ride an elephant and instruct it to cross the river using loud commands.

Afterward, the Racers were instructed to locate musicians playing instruments inside the jungle in order to receive their next clue.

Leo and Jamal arrived at the Roadblock in first place, followed by Victor and Nicole, Corinne and Eliza, and Janelle and Britney.

Leo wasn't happy Victor advised Corinne and Eliza where to go, calling the girls "sneaky snakes," who had previously cut off their tuk-tuk.

Colin and Christie arrived at the Roadblock in fifth place, and on their heels were Rachel and Elissa, Becca and Floyd, Chris and Bret, Tyler and Korey, and finally Rupert and Laura.

Rupert and Laura were shocked when Tyler and Korey passed them.

The following Racers took on the elephant Roadblock task: Jamal, Nicole, Christie, Elissa, Janelle, Corinne, Becca, Chris, Tyler, and Rupert.

Nicole and Victor received their next clue in first place, and Leo and Jamal completed the task seemingly seconds later.

Becca and Rupert had trouble controlling their elephants. Rupert's elephant even stopped to eat a meal at one point.

But next to finish were Janelle and Britney in third, Corinne and Eliza in fourth, Colin and Christie in fifth, Elissa and Rachel in sixth, Tyler and Korey in seventh, and Bret and Chris in eighth place.

Becca and Floyd finished the task in ninth place, with Rupert and Laura behind them in dead last.

The teams were then told to travel by tuk-tuk and then speedboat to Prince Phetsarath's Palace on the banks of the river, which would serve as the second Pit Stop of the Race.

Nicole and Victor were a bit ahead of Leo and Jamal, but Nicole listened to Leo and Jamal -- who told them they were going the wrong way -- so she ignored Victor's yelling and briefly ran the wrong way.

Nicole later realized her mistake and acknowledged she shouldn't listen to a team like those guys going forward.

Leo and Jamal were able to catch up to Nicole and Victor as a result, and the two teams were neck and neck getting into their speedboats.

However, Leo and Jamal made it to the Pit Stop in first place and won $2,500 each. They had back to back wins.

Nicole and Victor finished in second place by just minutes. Rachel and Elissa checked in as the third-place team, followed by Colin and Christie and then Janelle and Britney.

Corinne and Eliza placed sixth, and then Tyler and Korey made it to the Pit Stop in seventh place.

Chris and Bret were Team No. 8, and Becca and Floyd placed ninth.

Rupert and Laura figured they were in last place, and then The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan told them they had been eliminated from the Race.
