With CBS having landed reality uber-producer Mark Burnett's most recently pitched Rock Star series and the hard feelings over Fox's rip-off of his upcoming NBC The Contender boxing series still fresh, (and ABC seen as a perennial also-ran for Burnett shows) it looks like Burnett will be bringing his previously announced Martha Stewart reality project to NBC.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Burnett and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, the corporation that operates Stewart's empire, are close to signing a deal with NBC for a primetime reality series that would star the soon-to-be ex-con and be produced by Burnett.

Burnett and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia had previously inked a deal for the development of a post-prison Martha Stewart primetime reality series in September. The deal followed Burnett's earlier public comments in which he expressed interest in producing such a show for his self-described "good friend."

According to The Reporter, the specifics of the series are "still murky," but it would feature a elimination competition format similar to Burnett's Survivor and The Apprentice series.

Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia is also said to be in talks to revive her daily syndicated program that was effectively cancelled in May following her conviction of obstructing justice in an insider trading investigation. According The Reporter, Burnett would also produce the new syndicated daily show -- a first for the reality television pioneer.
