Marriage troubles reportedly aren't the only problem allegedly plaguing Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag.

"Spencer blew through all of their money. They've been living on credit. They spent the money they got from The Hills," a source told RadarOnline in a Thursday report.

Pratt recently admitted to spending $500,000 on energy crystals in the last several months because he's reportedly "addicted" to them.

"It's like a sickness," said Pratt, according to RadarOnline. "I checked my bank account last night, and I have $203 left. There's a whole science to this. I'm not crazy."

His affinity for energy crystals isn't the only cause for Pratt's financial troubles.

"The trouble is that Spencer spends all their money on being famous and although he's very smart when it comes to publicity his business sense is not up to scratch," another source told RadarOnline.

"He has a team of people to pay including a lawyer, business manager, publicist and a live-in security guy and this all costs a lot of money."

While Pratt and Montag have generated a large amount of income from their reality-television roles, photo shoots and from other business ventures, RadarOnline reported they regularly mismanage their funds.

"Spencer and Heidi also like to eat at expensive restaurants like Cut in Beverly Hills and Katsuya in Brentwood while she will think nothing of spending thousands of dollars on designer clothes and handbags. For his part he has also blown money on guns and classic cars plus expensive vacations too," the source told RadarOnline.

"They should have invested some of their money in property but they are renting the house in Pacific Palisades and that costs around $7,000 a month although they did not pay for the Malibu place where Heidi is currently living."

Montag -- who wed Pratt in April 2009 -- moved out of the Pacific Palisades, CA home she shared with him early last week, but hasn't filed for divorce. Instead, she stated the couple is "working on things" and she "just needed some space."

Multiple sources have claimed that Montag and Pratt's recent split is a publicity stunt because The Hills is currently in the midst of airing its final season and the couple has no new projects on the horizon.

"The bottom line is that Spencer knows that he cannot make as much money on his own as they can as a couple and that brings pressures in itself," a source told RadarOnline.
