Married at First Sight star Amber Bowles says there's no emotional intimacy in her marriage to Matthew Gwynne and his idea of being intimate is allegedly watching ESPN together.

During Wednesday night's episode of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered hosted by Jamie Otis, Amber sat down with her co-star Elizabeth Bice and MAFS expert Pastor Calvin Roberson to discuss her relationship with Matt as it's unfolding on Season 9 of the Lifetime reality series.

After the one-month mark of Amber's marriage, she and Matt said they decided to stop sleeping together in order to determine whether they had a deeper connection beyond just the physical.

"It was Matt's idea but I gladly jumped onboard," Amber revealed on Unfiltered. "Physical chemistry isn't something we really need to work on, it's definitely emotional chemistry."

Amber admitted she felt like her relationship with Matt was extremely surface-level.

"There's nothing there when it comes to emotionally between us, because he's not expressive," Amber shared.

"I think it's just healthy for us to take the physical chemistry off the table to see if there's anything left."

Pastor Cal then asked Amber if Matt had been doing anything, excluding sexual intercourse, to improve their emotional connection.

Jamie suggested giving Amber a massage, for example, which then prompted Elizabeth to throw out the idea of Matt drawing his wife a hot bath.

"Is there anything he's doing?" Pastor Cal reiterated. "And I don't mean after you initiate. Is he initiating intimacy?"

"No," Amber firmly replied. "Like, I mean other than turning on SportsCenter and being like, 'Want to watch this game?'"

"Like, no," she shrugged.

Elizabeth then offered her perspective on Amber and Matt's apparent lack of emotional intimacy.

"I'll be honest!" Elizabeth said.

"Please do. It won't hurt my feelings," Amber noted.

"Amber, don't settle for this nonsense," Elizabeth suggested.

"You don't deserve this, and you can do so much better than this, honey. He definitely doesn't have enough commas in his bank account to treat you like this!"

Amber thanked Elizabeth for her support and then proudly tossed her hair behind one shoulder.

"He doesn't have any commas," Amber revealed with a smile and some sass.

"So sit down, Matt, and take notes. Okay?!" Elizabeth added.

The latest episode of Married at First Sight's ninth season featured Matt and Amber trying to work through their issues during a couples' retreat in North Carolina with a little over one week to go until "Decision Day," when each couple must decide whether they'd like to stay married or get a divorce.

Matt spoke openly to his co-stars at the retreat about having put a lot of effort into his marriage and really caring about Amber. He even said they had developed "a deep and meaningful connection."

But Amber said Matt's actions didn't match up with his words, and she questioned whether her husband was being insincere and "blowing smoke up everyone's ass" for the sake of the cameras and his image.

"I'm in a very weird spot. I have seven weeks of emotions toward Matt, but it's hard for me to see what they are," she told the Married at First Sight season's other female participants during a group discussion.

"Do I just care about Matt? Do I like him? Do I love him? Do I hate him? Do I want to be his friend? I don't know. I just know I feel for him."

In addition to Amber and Elizabeth, Married at First Sight also stars Jamie Thompson, Iris Caldwell, Keith Manley, Deonna McNeill and Gregory Okotie.
