Lauren Burnham apparently has a very good reason for keeping her walls up around Arie Luyendyk Jr. on The Bachelor's currently-airing season.

"We will find out on her hometown -- she's actually been engaged twice," ABC executive Robert Mills said during an appearance on The Ringer's Bachelor Party podcast this week.

Lauren ended her second engagement to her ex, Christopher Crane, in 2016. According to her wedding website on The Knot -- which has been deleted -- Lauren had been set to marry the professional hockey player in July 2017.

The 25-year-old technology salesperson from Dallas, TX, has only been shown discussing one prior engagement with Arie on The Bachelor, so it's unclear what happened with her first fiance.

"I've been terrified to tell you anything, honestly. I guess it just goes back to the trust thing... My last relationship failed and I thought that was something that was really serious. I was actually engaged to my last ex," Lauren told the Bachelor during a one-on-one dinner date in Paris, France.

Lauren reiterated in last week's episode how she thought her relationship with that particular ex was "something very serious."

"I was ready for it, and I thought that was the person I was going to be with for the rest of my life," Lauren continued.

"And then as soon as we got engaged, it was like, he was cool with not treating me well anymore. It did affect my emotionally, and I'm even more guarded now than I was before... It terrifies me that I'm not going to be able to open up enough."

Lauren is one of four women still in the running for Arie's heart. In the upcoming February 19 episode, the 36-year-old pro racing driver and real estate agent from Scottsdale, AZ, will meet her family in Virginia Beach, VA.

And according to ABC, Lauren's hometown date is going to be Arie's "biggest test yet" because her parents are very skeptical of his motives.

Both Lauren's mother and father "have a rude awakening in store for Arie," teases the network.

"Her intimidating military father lays on the pressure and her mom, the real taskmaster, questions his future plans. Arie becomes overwhelmed with stress at the family dinner and must leave the table. Can he convince them that his intentions are sincere, or is this the end of the road for this couple?"
