Jam! Showbiz reports that CBS has added two additional episodes of its summer hit Big Brother 4, which will delay the final vote by one week. The finale will now air on Wednesday, September 24, not the prior Wednesday.

In part, CBS is responding to ABC's decision to delay the launch of some of its fall programs by one week. The BB4 finale will now go head-to-head against the debut of ABC's The Bachelor 4, which was not one of the programs whose start was delayed ... although viewers might not know that. However, CBS is also clearly motivated by BB4's continuing high ratings, which have placed both the Tuesday and Wednesday editions solidly in the Top 20 and occasionally in the Top 10 all summer long.

We should note that, when BB4 launched, we thought that the "twist" of placing ex-significant others in the house together was the BB4 version of "jumping the shark". Instead, it looks like the shark is safely back in its tank for now.
