Having already initially announced its Big Brother 5 "rolling application process" way back in September, CBS has now re-announced the casting call, with the new deadline for applications being April 9.

The Big Brother 5 application and instructions can be found on CBS.com. A two-minute videotape demonstrating why the applicant believes he or she will make the ultimate houseguest and two color photographs must accompany the completed forms.

As in previous editions, Big Brother 5 will follow a group of strangers living together in a house outfitted with dozens of cameras and microphones recording their every move 24 hours a day. One by one, the houseguests will vote each other out of the house. At the end of three months, the last remaining houseguest will receive the grand prize. The series will again be produced by Oscar and Emmy Award-winner Arnold Shapiro and his Emmy Award-winning partner Allison Grodner.

"Allison and I are excited about Big Brother 5, and the new surprises and twists that await this summer’s HouseGuests," said Arnold Shapiro. "The one constant we can promise participants and viewers alike is: expect the unexpected. We’re seeking the most outgoing, competitive, quirky and charismatic players we can find."

Adds Grodner, "The X Factor last year was only the beginning. We look forward to returning to Big Brother 5 this summer and stirring things up for the new HouseGuests.”
