NBC just announced it has already begun production on The Voice: Celebrity, a new spinoff that will swap undiscovered talent for a pool of celebrities with pipes -- including actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, comedians, and reality TV stars.

While Carson has hosted every single season of the original The Voice series, NBC chose to hire actress, singer and podcaster Keke Palmer as host of the new spinoff instead.

"I am not the right host for it," Carson admitted in a Tuesday, August 4 Instagram post.

"We have a NEW amazing HOST! The triple threat queen @keke who is PERFECT for it! I'm so grateful she carved out the time in her busy career to help us out. We're all big fans & welcome her to the family."

According to NBC, Keke's "creative range, bold authenticity, humor and heart epitomize the one-of-a-kind season."

Carson acknowledged that "many" fans have been asking him if he's "leaving the show" as a result.

"Nope," confirmed the former TRL host. "We're gonna try out these 2 formats this fall/spring & see how it goes!"

The Voice's 30th season is set to premiere on Monday, September 21 at 8PM ET/PT on NBC.

In addition to Carson serving as host, the four coaches for the milestone season will be Queen Latifah, Riley Green, Kelly Clarkson, and Adam Levine.

The network will then air The Voice: Celebrity in 2027 with Queen Latifah, Riley Green and Joe Jonas -- the older brother of two-time The Voice coach Nick Jonas -- serving as coaches.

"Hopefully this post clears up any confusion. I am still hosting the show currently," Carson said.

"In fact, I have hosted & produced every single second of the show since day 1, 30 seasons. 16 years. I'll be producing Celeb Voice only & helping it launch from behind the scenes."

Carson went on to thank everyone who's been watching The Voice since it debuted in 2011.

"[And] we can't wait to see you NEXT MONTH with the 'OG' Voice coaches @adamlevine @kellyclarkson @queenlatifah @rileyduckman & yes, me," Carson wrote.

"We've already shot a-lot of it & it may be our best season yet!! And please tune in SPRING 2027 for Celebrity Voice!"

Carson described The Voice: Celebrity as "a new concept" of the long-running reality singing competition series.

"The 'OG format' [is] where regular humans sing, chairs turn, teams are built, one winner crowned at the end," Carson explained.

"'Celeb Voice' is a fun, NEW IDEA that features some big differences like... FAMOUS PEOPLE singing for 3 coaches to see if they have what it takes. There's lots of new twists & turns," he concluded.

The participating celebrity artists will be announced at a later date.
