Bravo announced that casting has begun for Tim Gunn's Guide to Style, a new reality series that will feature Project Runway star Tim Gunn helping hapless fashion dilemmas transform into stylish individuals.

In each one-hour episode of the previously announced Guide to Style, Gunn will use his decades of fashion design experience to help ordinary people realize their true style potential.  Those interested in applying to appear on Guide to Style must be women at least 21 years of age or older with legal residency in the U.S..  Applicants must also currently reside within 30 miles of New York City to nominate themselves and/or their friends who meet the criteria.

Since the series is based on Gunn's new Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality, Taste & Style book --  which he co-wrote with writer Kate Moloney and is scheduled to be published in May 2007 by Abrams Image -- the casting announcement also coincided with Bravo posting the first chapter of the fashion guru's book on their website.  The first chapter is titled "Who You Are" and teaches the reader that understanding and acknowledging who you are is the most important key to the content of one's wardrobe.

"This first chapter is like giving fans a sneak peek at the upcoming series," said Jason Klarman, Bravo executive vice president of marketing. "BravoTV.com couldn't be more excited that Tim has shared an exclusive preview of his book with us."

Bravo has yet to announce a premiere for Tim Gunn's Guide to Style, which is produced by Stone and Company. Scott Stone and Sarah-Jane Cohen are executive producers.
