The Voice winner Craig Wayne Boyd may finally give the NBC reality singing competition a superstar.

Boyd, who was mentored by Blake Shelton on the show, has made history with his debut single "My Baby's Got a Smile on Her Face," which was created for him to perform on The Voice's seventh-season finale.

"My Baby's Got a Smile on Her Face" debuted at No. 1 on the country charts, and the only other artist to ever pull that off was Garth Brooks in 2007 with "More Than a Memory," People reported.

Shelton had written the song for himself to record but carried it around in his back pocket for years. The Voice coach thought Boyd, 35, was deserving enough to make the tune his own.

Boyd earned Shelton his fourth The Voice win and, according to People, he has plans in the mix for both an album and tour in 2015.
