The Voice eliminated five artists and determined the sixteenth season's Top 8 artists during Tuesday night's live results broadcast on NBC.

The Voice Results began with host Carson Daly announcing the seven artists who had received the most home viewer votes following Monday night's Top 13 performance show and were therefore automatically advancing to next week's semi-finals performance show.

Those lucky artists were Maelyn Jarmon and Shawn Sounds from John Legend's team; Dexter Roberts, Gyth Rigdon, Carter Lloyd Horne, and Andrew Sevener from Blake Shelton's team; and Rod Stokes from Kelly Clarkson's team.

The three singers who unfortunately received the fewest number of votes and were automatically eliminated as a result were Oliv Blu from "Team Blake," Jej Vinson from "Team Kelly," and Celia Babini from "Team Legend."

The remaining three artists from the Top 13 -- Mari and LB Crew from Adam Levine's team as well as Kim Cherry from "Team Blake" -- were in jeopardy of elimination but afforded the opportunity to sing for the night's one and only "Instant Save."

After all three artists performed a song for survival last night, America tweeted via the show's "Instant Save" format to keep Kim in the competition.

Adam could be seen voicing, "Wow. Wow," after learning his entire team had been wiped out of the running to win The Voice's sixteenth season.

Kim kicked off the elimination format by taking the stage with "My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)" by En Vogue.

Blake said Kim got up onstage and owned the moment. She showed who she is as an artist, and Blake prayed America would vote her through.

"Because you need to be on this show," Blake noted.

Mari then sang "Latch" by Disclosure featuring Sam Smith.

Adam thought Mari's performance -- and all of them in the past -- should be enough for her to move on. Her coach said anyone with eyes and ears should know she belongs on The Voice and deserves a spot on the show going forward.

"I don't get it. I am in shock. I do not understand," Adam said.

And finally, LB Crew belted out "Better" by Khalid.

Adam was also shocked LB found himself in the bottom of the pack because he's an "unbelievable vocalist." Adam loved how he performed and admitted it was "brutal" to see them both fighting to stay.

Home viewers then had a brief five-minute window to vote in real time for Kim, Mari or LB to stay on The Voice via Twitter.

By the end of the commercial break, Kim was leading with 39 percent of the vote, compared to Mari with 35 percent and then LB with 26 percent.

Prior to learning the results, Mari told Adam she had inspired and encouraged him to become a better artist and LB thanked his coach for not only speaking to his talent but speaking to his character.

Blake also told Kim she was "meant to be" on his team and had one hell of a run on The Voice regardless.
