The Bachelor featured Colton Underwood dumping both Tayshia Adams and Hannah Godwin after realizing he could only love one person at one time, Cassie Randolph, during on Monday night's broadcast of Part 1 of 2019 season's two-part finale on ABC.

The first part of The Bachelor's Season 23 finale picked up right where last week's episode had left off, with Colton jumping the fence and Chris Harrison looking for him in a remote area of Portugal.

Not only was Harrison concerned and confused about the Bachelor's, but the production team also called for him and went searching for him in their cars.

Harrison then made a call at 11:40PM, saying Colton was "nowhere to be found" and they had "no idea" where he was. Harrison said they'd give it another 20 or 30 minutes before calling the police.

Suddenly, a dark figure emerged and it was Colton walking down a street. Colton walked quickly and asked a crew member not to touch him or go near him.

"Are you okay?" asked the female crew member.

"No! I'm not okay!" Colton replied.

Harrison then caught up to Colton, who said, "Dude, I'm f-cking done with this sh-t."

Colton said he wanted to be done with the whole thing, the show in its entirety.

Colton was bawling his eyes out and said, "I've been through enough of knowing I'm not enough for a long time, and every reminder of it makes me stronger, so I'm okay with it."

Colton added, "Every time I put myself out there I get f-cking rejected."

Harrison reminded Colton that both Hannah G. and Tayshia still loved him, but all he said was, "I know," in a deflated manner before repeating once again how he was done with the show and the journey.

The next morning, Harrison visited Colton at his hotel room to talk. Harrison said he was just worried about him, and Colton revealed he just needed time to himself to think and figure out his feelings and next move.

Colton said as hard as the previous night was, he knew something was off from the moment Cassie walked towards him for their Fantasy Suite date. He said he knew she was going to leave after hearing she had spoken to her father and was a little confused.

Colton admitted he was "falling in love" with both Tayshia and Hannah but he was "in love" with Cassie and she shut his heart off to feeling anything else for anyone else.

Colton thought his relationships with the other two women were why Cassie left and she was scared to admit that she loved him.

Colton felt he had a good read on her, and he would not accept the possibility she simply wasn't into him.

"Life without Cassie wouldn't be complete. I feel like Cassie completes me right now," Colton said.

Colton insisted he was going to fight for the person he loved, which was something he failed to do in a previous relationship.

Colton felt extremely lonely and noted he wanted to be with Cassie and would be willing to risk everything with the other two women to be with her.

"I know what I need to do," Colton said.

Colton then showed up at Tayshia's doorstep.

Once she came outside and they sat down to talk, he started crying and said, "You're incredible and I just owe you the respect and honesty we've been showing each other the entire time. I feel like I knew I was falling for you, but in my heart I know I can't love two people, and my heart is with somebody else. I love Cassie."

"Mhmm," Tayshia replied, seemingly dumbfounded.

"I'm sorry. You don't deserve that. You don't," Colton said.

Tayshia wanted to talk without all the cameras in her face, and so they went back inside her hotel room. Tayshia could then be heard comforting Colton and telling him, "It's okay."

He was crying and she didn't know what to say. Tayshia then broke down into tears. Tayshia didn't want to go through with being getting her heart broken.

Colton opened the door and Tayshia called him "a good guy," saying that's what she wants out of life. Colton reminded her that's exactly what she deserves.

"It's okay. It's okay. It's okay," Tayshia repeated to herself in tears once Colton left her side.

Harrison called it "one of the saddest breakups we've ever seen."

Tayshia then joined Harrison in the hot seat live in-studio and said it was difficult watching the breakup back. It was a surprise and she wasn't ready for her journey to end.

Tayshia said Colton was shaking when he met up with her and she knew he wasn't going to deliver good news. It "hurt" to hear he loved Cassie, especially when she put her heart on the line.

Tayshia admitted she loved Colton and became a better person in his presence.

Colton then joined Tayshia onstage. They were both nervous and then Tayshia asked Colton what was missing.

Colton said they made "awesome" memories and he tried to stay true to his feelings. Colton tried to stay open in other relationships for as long as he could but his heart eventually closed off because it belonged to Cassie.

Colton said he realized at the time of Fantasy Suites Cassie was the love he had wanted.

Colton said he stood by all the decisions he had made up to this point, and then Tayshia wished him the best.

Footage then showed Hannah G. preparing for her Fantasy Suite date with Colton and gushing about how she was ready to say, "I love you" to him. Their date was planned for the next day, but then Colton arrived at her hotel room seemingly late at night.

Hannah was happy to see Colton, but he was just about to let her down gently. Colton called Hannah his rock and said she had helped him through the hardest times during this journey.

"I realized I can't be in love with two people and where my feelings are in another relationship is at a stronger point than where I am at with you," Colton told Hannah. "I realized I love Cassie."

"I didn't expect you to say that," Hannah noted.

"I didn't expect to be saying this. I thought it was going to be you, and you still remind me of home," Colton told her.

Colton confessed he felt sick and then Hannah asked why things didn't work out between them. Colton didn't have an answer for her, and Hannah noted she was "really thrown off."

Hannah thought "for sure" it was going to be the two of them at the end, and she couldn't even wrap her brain around the fact this was happening.

Colton said Hannah made him better, and then she said, "That's what I do. I make people better but they don't want to stick around."

Hannah regretted ever opening up and being vulnerable with Colton. She couldn't imagine Colton having a better connection with someone else, so she said she didn't understand what he was talking about.

Hannah was angry and broke down into tears because she had been "so excited" about them, as was her family.

"This is why it's so hard. I'm saying goodbye to somebody who loves me. What the f-ck am I doing? I don't want to lose you. I don't know if I'm making the right decision," Colton vented.

Hannah said she should've known the relationship was too good to be true.

Colton hoped he was making the right decision, and then he hugged her goodbye.

"You don't deserve to be anybody's backup plan. You don't deserve to be second. I don't know what else to say," Colton cried.

Colton left Hannah and started bawling his eyes out. A producer then asked if he was okay, and he vented, "I'm scared."

Once Hannah got in the van, she said she didn't want to talk about anything.

"I don't know if I'm giving up a sure thing for something that's impossible. That's literally how much I love Cassie, that I'm willing to walk away from someone that great," Colton told the cameras as Hannah put her face into her hands and cried.

Hannah then joined Harrison live in the hot seat in-studio for an interview.

Hannah said she had been dreading watching that finale for months. She was "blindsided" and it hurt even more to show how difficult that breakup was for Colton as well.

Hannah thought she was the only girl left by the time Colton visited her at her room. Hannah said she was very much in love with Colton and she was convinced he felt the same.

"I thought it was me and him the whole time," Hannah admitted, adding that the hardest part of this journey for her was watching the season back.

"It's not just a show; it was something so serious to me. It's the ultimate rejection... I've been hoping for more closure... I feel more confused than when it happened in Portugal... I feel my heart is bruised from it."

Hannah insisted she's no longer in love with Colton because it has to be a two-way street.

Colton then joined Hannah onstage and she asked him why he didn't give her more time to see their relationship through like the others, but Colton said he gave himself to someone else and so he couldn't continue on knowing he wouldn't be able to be all in.

Colton said he didn't want his life to go on without Cassie and it would have been unfair to keep her around.

Hannah acknowledged she never doubted what they had and wondered if having a Fantasy Suite would have changed his mind, but Colton confessed how he was feeling in another relationship at that time was stronger.

Colton also admitted he never even considered having the Fantasy Suite date with Hannah after all of the events that transpired with Cassie.

Colton noted his decision to quit The Bachelor prematurely was selfish but his breakup with Cassie and his love for Cassie was "bigger than the show."

"What Cassie did to you is exactly what you did to me," Hannah cried, adding that she trusted him so much.

Hannah said it sucked to hear Colton tell Cassie he thought about her when he was with other women. But Colton said that's when he realized he was 100 percent Cassie's and belonged to her.

Hannah told Harrison this process was really hard but it made her stronger and she wants a man who's willing to jump a fence for her.

The episode ended with Colton and Cassie packing up their suitcases in Portugal.

Colton said the show was over for him because Cassie was the only woman he wanted to be with, and Cassie was shown telling the cameras she felt too much pressure as the last-woman standing and wasn't ready to settle down and accept an engagement just yet.

"I can't wait to be with family and friends back home and move on with my life," Cassie said.

Colton was then shown riding in a car on a mission -- to win Cassie back and convince her to give him a second chance. Colton said he had to follow his heart and fight for the one he loved.

"I don't know what the future holds for me. I've said it a thousand times, that I just want to be loved back the way that I love somebody. I don't know if that's possible," Colton told the cameras, adding that he was ready to make sacrifices to try to make it work.

"I'm willing to do anything and everything, because that's how much I love Cassie."

Colton was then shown knocking on a hotel door. When the door was answered, Colton could be heard saying, "Hey," in a quiet voice.
