The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Mikayla Matthews has announced she's done with the Hulu reality series and made it clear fellow star Taylor Frankie Paul had something to do with her choice to exit.

"I made my decision over a week ago, after hearing some news, that I will not be continuing the show at this moment [heart emoji]," Mikayla, 26, wrote via Instagram on Monday, September 14.
Mikayla -- who's been a regular on the show since Season 1 -- went on to explain how Taylor impacted her decision, although she didn't name Taylor directly.
"I've said from the beginning of this that I'm not comfortable being a part of something that continues to platform behavior I don't agree especially given my own experience growing up in a home with multiple forms of abuse," Mikayla continued.
"There's no amount of money worth going against my morals or changing the stance I've had since I first saw and heard the things that made me feel this strongly."

Mikayla added, "And for me personally, continuing to directly profit from this behavior feels wrong and unethical. It feels like a disservice to the children, everyone's healing and the millions of people watching."
Mikayla was seemingly referring to Taylor's ongoing legal and custody dispute with her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, with whom she shares son, Ever True, 2.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives had temporarily halted production on Season 5 in March because Taylor and Dakota had made dueling allegations of domestic violence and also filed restraining orders against each other.
Sources had told People at the time that several cast members wanted nothing to do with Taylor and refused to work with her.
Around the time Mormon Wives took a break from filming, a 2023 video of Taylor assaulting Dakota leaked online and prompted ABC to cancel Taylor's The Bachelorette season.

When Mormon Wives resumed filming, Taylor's involvement was limited and she was only asked back to the intro credits.
However, Taylor revealed earlier this week on Instagram that her role on Mormon Wives will continue because she wants to share her truth and hopefully help people in similar situations.
While Mikayla acknowledged how The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has been "a huge part" of her life and helped "provide" for her family, she won't be finishing Season 6 of the show, which is currently filming.
"I'm so grateful for the experience, and will continue sharing my story, my health and advocating for myself and others," Mikayla wrote in her statement.
"This shouldn't be 'relatable' or entertainment in anyway. Supporting an ADULT doesn't mean constantly making excuses for toxic behavior while giving unconditional sympathy and grace with zero accountability or change."

Mikayla concluded, "I was in that enabling cycle for years, and I'm not going to be a part of that again! Love you all."
Mikayla's news comes on the heels of major tension amongst The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast.
On July 7, Whitney Leavitt and co-stars publicly voiced their frustrations about Taylor's former "creator of MomTok + SLOMW" Instagram bio, prompting Taylor to upload a video boasting about the opportunities she's been presented and belittling her co-stars achievements.
Taylor, for example, bragged that she was approached to be on Dancing with the Stars when both Whitney and Jen Affleck had competed on the reality dancing competition last season.
Mikayla has been one of the most vocal Mormon Wives stars about her issues with Taylor.

Mikayla wrote on social media in response, "For someone who's so big on 'defending yourself' and 'not being silenced,' it's pretty hypocritical to simultaneously use your massive platform to pressure and intimidate the people around you into staying quiet about their experiences."
And on July 8, Whitney posted a video of herself dancing alongside fellow SLOMW cast members Mikayla, Jen, Miranda Hope, Jessi Draper, Layla Taylor, Jen Affleck, and Mayci Neeley during a Season 5 filming break.
Whitney wrote of the apparent reunion at the time, "We're surviving," and Taylor noticeably snapped in the comments, "Looks to me like you're thriving. I'll show you surviving..."
Taylor apologized for her actions after Mikayla ranted on her Instagram Stories about how her friends were "hurting" and "unfairly bashed," according to People.
"It's honestly crazy that we're even arguing about who created what or who's more relevant. This show was pitched to us, by the way (me, Mayci, Whitney, and Taylor) about stay-at-home moms providing for their families and, of course, 'MomTok.'"
Mikayla said that MomTok was started by Taylor, Miranda and Camille Munday, who is no longer part of the show.
"Of course the talks of a show came from the Mormon moms swinging drama being exposed online by Taylor (who wouldn't want to pick that s--- up and watch it!?), and of course we've gotten incredible opportunities since, but every single girl had to interview and was cast because of the value and vulnerability THEY brought to make this show what it is today," Mikayla argued.
Mikayla pointed out that if Hulu wanted a show about "one person or the swinging drama," they would've done that.
"Throwing around the word 'bully,' but failing to acknowledge there has to be that power imbalance. Constantly threatening to 'f*ck someone up' or ruin their life publicly and using your much bigger platform to send hate to them for the sole reason of taking back that power," she continued.
"Constantly reposting things and repeatedly pushing the narrative of, 'I'm the reason you have this, you only got it cause I turned it down, I'm a star and you're not as interesting. Don't forget it,' seems like weaponizing and manipulating your following to keep yourself in that power position to intimidate the people around you over and over."
