The other couples are Amelia, a 27-year-old medical resident from Richmond, VA, and Bennett, a 28-year-old artistic director from Montvale, NJ, as well as Brett Lindsey, a 35-year-old with a career in information technology from Gretna, LA, and Olivia, a 30-year-old nurse from Bossier City, LA.

Married at First Sight, Episode 9

The Married at First Sight broadcast began on Day 17 of marriage, with Henry calling Christina "just to check in" after their big fight.

Olivia and Brett woke up tired, saying their cats had "partied hard" at 3 or 4AM.

Miles was shown fixing Karen's car because it wouldn't start for a couple of days, and Amelia revealed Bennett was feeling very sick. Amelia went to the store to buy Bennett some ginger and honey tea in order to take care of him.

Miles admitted there had been "no affection or intimacy" in his relationship and so he was wondered what was going on. One of Karen's friends, however, had advised Miles at their housewarming party he needed to take the lead with Karen and let her feel like a woman.

In order to impress Karen, Miles invited a friend into their kitchen to show them how to prepare a restaurant-quality meal at home. Karen was excited and thought the seafood and pasta dinner turned out excellent.

Karen noted she and Miles still had a lot to learn about each other, but she hoped he would continue to be so thoughtful and sweet over the next few weeks.

"But overall, he definitely got brownie points for this," Karen told the cameras.

Miles said he appreciated Karen's love for food, and Karen told her husband that she wouldn't mind him spoiling her a couple times a month. Karen assured Miles, however, his acts of kindness didn't need to always be so fancy.

Karen told the cameras she was starting to see that side of Miles that could take care of her and her needs, and she gave him an A++ for the evening.

Meanwhile, at Henry and Christina's apartment, Henry said Christina easily got frustrated and the impatience was something he was not used to. Henry admitted it's okay to be impatient but he didn't care for how Christina tended to handle things.

Christina disappeared for the day while Henry was at home, and once the pair reunited, she told Henry she had been eating and drinking with friends.

Christina then decided to be open with Henry about something she had been personally struggling with in her life -- something that wasn't easy to talk about.

"So, I've been off my medicine for ADD and I've been secretly struggling with it and trying to put on a good front, and it probably explains a few of my impatient moments," Christina shared.

"But I'm going to just get back onto my medication. I realize that it kind of normalizes me. I think you'll see a big change in me, in a positive way."

Henry said that sounded good and it would hopefully help Christina to handle a lot of situations better. He said, "That's good and it makes sense."

Christina admitted to the cameras she was just trying to keep herself together and so it probably had a negative impact on her marriage. Christina had stopped taking the medication for a month-and-a-half and said coping with it had been really hard for her.

"I just want to go take a nap constantly and it makes me irritated and makes me not want to interact with other people," Christina explained. "It makes me frustrated."

Henry told Christina that she had nothing to be ashamed of, but Christina said there was such a stigma surrounding her struggle and her mother and family had been totally against her taking the medication, which influenced her to suddenly stop it.

Henry was relieved Christina had decided to open up to him, because he said it explained a lot. Henry planned to be there for Christina and be a good husband, but he repeated how he hoped the medication would change her "attitude."

Amani and Woody were then shown getting a pedicure together at a nail salon. Amani gave Woody a heads-up that she'd be taking out her braids soon, and Woody admitted he likes a woman with long hair to "have something to hold on to."

Amani jokingly called her husband "out of control" and "crazy," but she gushed to the cameras, "I like him."

Amani and Woody were both happy in their marriage, and Amani said it was nice to have her husband by her side for such a fun activity. Woody told his wife, "I got you, sweets. I'll take care of you."

On Day 18 of marriage, Amelia and Bennett cleaned their apartment together, and Bennett said he was feeling better. Bennett thanked Amelia for taking care of him, and Bennett noted, "You really came through. You fulfilled any wifely duties that existed."

"There was a brief moment when I was feeling a little bit better and we were very tender with each other, very close to each other, physically, and things just kind of naturally progressed," Bennett told the cameras.

"You guys had sex?" a producer asked.

"Yes," Bennett confirmed. "I am satisfied with our current level of intimacy."

Amelia then gushed, "We did it! I don't really like talking about sex that much."

The Married at First Sight experts then gave each couple a list of questions to ask each other in order to deepen their connection and level of intimacy.

Amelia told Bennett that she'd feel in love once she's very connected and intertwined with a person, and Bennett said he'd like to feel at ease, comfortable with communicating, and passionate.

Amelia said she and Bennett had more growth to do before she could fall in love.

"Who knows what's going to happen. If I have to move to this mysterious place for residency, I don't know if he'd be moving with me, and I don't want to make it feel forced or unnatural," Amelia explained in a confessional.

Bennett admitted to Amelia he had felt love at first sight once with a woman who "laughed a lot" and made great eye contact when they met. Little did Amelia know that Bennett was talking about her.

"I do love Amelia. Loving someone though is different from being in love with them. I can confidently say I love Amelia. I am not yet in love with her though, but I can say we are getting closer," Bennett told the cameras.

Meanwhile, Brett said he liked Olivia a lot even though they had their fair share of ups and downs. He thought Olivia was a great person.

However, when the couple asked each other the list of questions, Brett found humor in the activity and kept cracking jokes -- and Olivia didn't really appreciate that Brett wasn't taking things seriously.

When Olivia asked Brett how he'd actively fall in love in their relationship, Brett said sexy underwear dances would do it as well as reminding Olivia to floss. He added "firework displays" in there and BMX tricks.

"Talking with Brett about love is exhausting. I feel like there's a time and a place for sarcasm, but being sarcastic all the time makes it very hard for me to understand what his views on love are," Olivia explained in a confessional.

"Sometimes I feel like I'm pulling teeth and just trying to get him to express himself and let me know how he feels."

Olivia told Brett they shouldn't focus on the big things in life and marriage and just enjoy and bond over the small things, but Brett didn't see eye to eye with her on that and called her perspective "concerning."

"That sounds like the exact opposite of every good advice I've gotten in my life," Brett said.

"If you focus on the huge things in life, you'll never be satisfied," Olivia argued.

When Henry and Christina went down the list, Henry insisted he still wanted to get to know Christina and try to make their relationship work.

"I do like you a lot, and I think the more time you spend with somebody, the more time you have for feelings to grow and for different things to develop," Henry told his wife.

Christina revealed she had been in love before with her last ex because they had a lot of fun and excitement in their relationship, even though they were broke. But Christina called her past relationship "tumultuous" and said she doesn't want a roller-coaster relationship in marriage.

Christina admitted she had allowed things to get to her a little bit and Henry brought her back down to earth, which helped her a lot.

"I think I'm finally starting to see exactly why I was matched with Henry," Christina told the cameras.

"He doesn't yell, he's not mean, he just discusses things with me, and he doesn't make fun of me, which I was used to in my past relationships -- and I kind of would end up unhappy. So in these small moments, it's like, 'Okay, keep going forward.'"

Christina told Henry that she wanted to be loved unconditionally and she liked Henry the more she learned about him.

Afterward, Woody and Amani were shown coloring pictures together and talking about love.

Woody said he knows when he's in love because he thinks about a woman more than he thinks about himself and wants to please her and do nice things for her, such as making the woman's favorite meal.

Woody described things he had already done for Amani, so Amani pointed out, "I feel like you're trying to tell me that you love me."

"Do I love you?" Woody asked. "I definitely have love for you. I can say that... I love my wife. So yeah, there you go. I do love your ass. I've got love for you."

Amani searched for clarification by asking, "So you love me or you've got love for me?"

"I love you and I've got love for you. There you go," Woody replied.

Amani giggled with joy, and Woody added, "I do feel like I love my wife, man. I love the person that you are, which is crazy to say because I didn't know you weeks ago. But I am ready to spill all my beans."

Amani, however, told her husband, "I can't say that I'm, like, in love with you. I think that I definitely like you and I feel myself growing towards being in love with you."

Amani admitted she was "stopping" herself from falling because she was scared after getting hurt in past relationships.

Woody felt the need to remind Amani that he's different from men who had wronged her in her past, and he hoped Amani would give him a clean slate and not to bring the issues of prior relationships into their marriage.

"It sucks. It sucks. I'll leave it at that," Woody said.

When Miles and Karen did the activity, Karen said she'd feel safe and trust Miles if she was in love. She predicted love would come with time, acknowledging, "It's still early," and they needed to have more conversations and dig deeper.

Miles opened up about his happy childhood and how he had to move a lot. His parents, however, divorced when he was nine years old, and he told Karen that he had to play the peacekeeper and eventually grew tired of carrying the weight of two families.

Karen didn't want Miles to feel like he had to be Superman in their relationship and then slowly get burnt out. She could tell Miles had the tendency to please people, and Karen apparently wanted to meet Miles' needs as well.

Karen suggested there was a part of her that feared Miles was too good to be true.

"For me, it's hard to transition from being single to overnight having someone constantly asking me what I need and what they can do," Karen told the cameras.

"I don't want him to get too caught up on just trying to show up as this perfect husband. I don't need perfection. I need to know someone is there for me, but it doesn't mean you have to coddle me either."

Miles joked with his wife that he'd only get better like a fine wine.

On Day 19 of marriage, Amelia said Bennett made her feel so good from the moment she woke up to the moment she went to sleep.

Amelia's friend came over to the apartment and helped her plan a day of surprises for Bennett. Amelia made a cake for Bennett and planned to take him to the park, where she could teach him how to slack-line.

Bennett did not find the task easy, but he apparently had fun learning. Bennett said he was "delighted" Amelia shared this important part of her life with him, and then Amelia surprised him with a romantic picnic by a pond -- including a cake of Bennett's face and a pinata.

Meanwhile, Henry took Christina golfing and ended up being very impressed with her skills, although she had little-to-no experience in the sport. Christina enjoyed Henry teaching her how to play and feeling like she was a part of his world.

"I can't believe how good Christina is. She's a quick learner," Henry told the cameras, adding that they had fun.

"It reminded of everything that I like about her. I think she's fairly genuine. She's a pretty free spirit... and she's not scared of making a decision. I think I can learn from it."

Henry and Christina were finally feeling chemistry with each other, and Henry kept complimenting Christina on being a great golfer. The pair ended the day with a nice crawfish meal.

Olivia and Amani were then shown enjoying some girl time and discussing their marriages.

When Amani asked Olivia if she was growing more and more attracted to Brett, Olivia revealed, "A little bit, but it's not huge leaps and bounds."

Amani said she got butterflies around Woody and got excited to see him, but Olivia admitted, "Yeah, I'm still waiting for those to show up... Those emotions are not present."

Olivia shared with Amani that Brett didn't open up to her with some real, honest talk. Olivia said she and Brett got along but they had to figure out how to overcome the big issues such as having kids, finances and their life goals.

Brett wanted to put his extra money into his home, which Olivia respected, but Olivia admitted she wanted to travel, see the world and have fun.

"Why we were matched, I don't think we figured that out yet," Olivia confessed.

Amani wished Olivia felt as happy in her marriage to Brett as she was feeling in her relationship with Woody.

"I think with our big-picture issues, only time will help that. And I think we need to focus on the small things in life and just get out of our environment and step out and focus on each other," Olivia told the cameras.

Olivia just wanted to spend more time with Brett and said they didn't have to participate in fancy activities.

On Day 20 of marriage, Henry decided he and Christina should take a salsa-dancing lesson together as a "thank you" for her learning golf for him. Christina apparently loves to dance, but Henry needed to work on it.

With a little practice, Henry got better, and Christina applauded her husband for his efforts.

Meanwhile, Miles and Karen went grocery shopping together, and Karen let Miles pick out what he'd like for dinner, which turned out to be fish, asparagus and potatoes.

Karen was used to being with a masculine male rather than an emotional guy who often expresses his feelings, so she wondered if she and Miles could meet each other's expectations in a marriage and be happy.

Miles, however, viewed masculinity and emotional maturity as being linked.

Olivia and Brett were then shown going on an airboat ride in the swamp to check out some alligators, and they even held a baby gator. Olivia thought this put Brett and herself on the right path, and she hoped Brett would continue to be receptive to her date ideas.

That night, Amelia and Bennett made dinner together and the pair laughed over Bennett asking her to borrow some socks because he only had two pairs.

Amani then surprised Woody with a beautiful dinner, salmon over pasta, that she prepared for her husband when he got home. Amani wanted to "step it up" and put on a romantic display to show how much she appreciated Woody, even though she wasn't quite in love with him yet.

Woody gushed how he was "definitely going to keep" his wife, and he was pleasantly surprised by Amani's gesture and appreciated it.

Amani told Woody that he'd probably be turned on if she wore a burka, but Woody thought she said "burger" and agreed with it, so Amani cracked up laughing.

While Karen cooked dinner that night, Miles brought up intimacy and accused Karen of getting uncomfortable when talking about that topic. Karen didn't want to talk about intimacy until they were "going through it," which seemed to rub Miles the wrong way.

"How do you get there?" Miles asked.

"I think it's just something that happens naturally. I'm not going to [schedule it]," Karen said.

Miles jokingly wrote "sex with my wife" on the calendar, and Karen complained to the cameras it was "a stupid, childish moment" that made her feel "disrespected" in her own home.

"He crossed a boundary," Karen told the cameras, before telling Miles to schedule himself a handjob.
