Having a second baby girl was reportedly not even an option for expectant parents Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

The 34-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians star underwent an in vitro fertilization gender-selection procedure in the spring to predetermine the sex of baby No. 2, Us Weekly reported.

"She only had male embryos implanted," a source close to Kardashian told Us. "Kim would have happily taken a healthy baby, but being able to choose the sex is the cherry on top!"

The process in which doctors isolate fertilized embryos of a desired sex in a lab and then transport them into a woman's uterus reportedly costs at least $17,000.

Kardashian confirmed she has a baby boy on the way via Instagram on Father's Day, a couple weeks after revealing she's pregnant again. She's currently a mom to two-year-old North, who was born in June 2013.

"Kanye and Kim are so excited to complete their family," an insider previously said. "Kanye loves Nori more than anything, but to make his world complete, he wanted a little boy, an heir."

Kardashian and West are reportedly set to welcome their second child in December 2015.

"I'm a completely different person. I don't know if it's growing up or being with Kanye, who's more private, but I try and live my off time as privately as possible," Kardashian told Glamour magazine in its July issue.

"I used to enjoy the spotlight. If I had a day off from filming, I didn't know what to do. Now I enjoy my family time so much, there is this sense of, if it all went away and I was just a mom, I would love my life."
