Kanye West has caused a Twitter storm with a controversial tweet in support of Bill Cosby.

"BILL COSBY INNOCENT !!!!!!!!!!" the outspoken rapper wrote Tuesday without any further explanation.

Despite West not staying on the subject for long, a collection of fans and celebrities began to bash the 38-year-old for his unpopular opinion and for perhaps making the statement to only garner attention.

"Kanye!! You can't be for real. FIFTY WOMEN. With nothing to gain thanks to a statute of limitations ON RAPE. Oy," comedian and actress Sarah Silverman tweeted in response to West.

"Are we sure Kanye isn't just a character from Zoolander?" comedian Billy Eichner wrote with Patton Oswalt adding, "There are easier ways to trend, Kanye."

West has referenced Cosby before in his recently released song "Facts" where he raps, "Do anybody feel bad for Bill Cosby? Did he forget names just like Steve Harvey?"

The tweets come a day after West made headlines for renaming his upcoming album on the social media site, promising fans that could decipher the title of T.L.O.P. would be gifted with a free pair of Adidas Yeezys and tickets to his Yezzy Season 3 launch event at Madison Square Garden.

Cosby was formally charged with felony sexual assault in January stemming from an alleged incident more than a decade ago during which Andrea Constand, a former Temple University women's basketball executive, claims she was drugged and abused at the actor's suburban Philadelphia home.

This is the first time Cosby has been arraigned on such charges following more than 40 women coming forward with claims that they were assaulted by Cosby.
