Jenelle Evans has announced she's divorcing her husband of two years, David Eason.

The former Teen Mom 2 star took to Instagram on Thursday to announce the news.

"I've mostly kept off social media the past few days because I've been focusing on making some big life decisions. I've lived my life on camera since I was 17 years old. And a lot of it hasn't been pretty. But its been my life," Jenelle, 27, began.

"Like anyone else I want what's best for my kids and I want to be happy. With time away from Teen Mom, I've started to look at my life differently and I know I need to make changes. I'm starting that now."

"The kids and I have moved away from David. Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end but I know that's what is best for me, and for my kids," she wrote.

"Today I've filed papers to start that process. I appreciate the support from everybody who has asked how I am. Me and the kids are doing great. We need some time to be together, but you'll hear from us again soon."

Jenelle and the 31-year-old pipe welder married in September 2017, but they began dating two years before they wed.

Jenelle and David share daughter Ensley, 2. Jenelle is also mom to son Kaiser, 5, with ex Nathan Griffith and son Jace, 10, whom she shares with ex Andrew Lewis.

Meanwhile, David has a 12-year-old daughter Maryssa from a previous relationship.

According to sources, Jenelle feels her career will totally flounder if she stays married to David, TMZ reported.

Although Jenelle starred on Teen Mom 2 since the spinoff premiered on MTV in 2011, the network dropped her as a cast member earlier this year following an incident in which David killed their family pet, a French bulldog named Nugget.

"MTV ended its relationship with David Eason over a year ago in February 2018 and has not filmed any new episodes of Teen Mom 2 with him since," an MTV spokesperson told Us Weekly in a May statement.

"Additionally, we have stopped filming with Jenelle Eason as of April 6, 2019 and have no plans to cover her story in the upcoming season."

Jenelle reportedly believes she must leave David in order to better provide for her children and her marriage wasn't healthy to begin with.

Jenelle and David's breakup comes six months after David committed an act of violence against Nugget and the former couple became targets of animal-cruelty accusations.

Reports of the incident surfaced on April 30, when a source told Us that David had "shot" and killed Nugget because the pooch had "snapped at Ensley."

David then shared a video on social media on May 1 of the French bulldog appearing to nip the Ensley in the face. Ensley, however, appeared okay and her skin was reportedly not broken.

"I don't give a damn what animal bites my baby on the face. Whether it be your dog or mine, a dog is a dog and I don't put up with that s--t at all. I'm all about protecting my family, it is my life's mission," David wrote on Instagram alongside the video.

"Some people are worth killing or dying for and my family means that much to me. You can hate me all you want but this isn't the first time the dog bit Ensley aggressively. The only person that can judge whether or not an animal is a danger to MY CHILD is ME."

Jenelle confirmed speculation David had killed the dog hours later through an emotional Instagram post and statement to Us, in which she revealed she was considering dumping her husband.

"At this time, we are dealing with this rough situation. I want to focus on what's best for me and my kids," Jenelle said, adding that she and David were not on speaking terms.

"[Divorce is] in thoughts, but nothing is finalized... I'm too hurt and upset at the fact he did that. It's taking time to get over this whole situation, and it's making me feel he's very cruel and doesn't have a heart on many ends."

Jenelle reportedly fled their North Carolina home after the incident but returned days later.
