Giuliana Rancic has returned to work just two weeks after undergoing a successful double mastectomy, a surgical operation to remove both her breasts, and reconstructive surgery in attempt to beat breast cancer.

"Thankfully, I've been feeling better every single day since surgery and this weekend my doctors gave me the green light to get back to work," the host told E! News.

"Even though I moved a tad slower than usual today, everyone welcomed me back with open arms and it was a wonderful homecoming."

Rancic immediately thanked everyone on-air who had offered their support during her cancer treatments upon her return to the studio of the network's E! News entertainment news program.

"It is so good to be back after two weeks since my surgery. Thank all of you, once again, for your love, support and prayers. It means the world to me, so thank you so much," Rancic said while hosting Tuesday night's E! News broadcast.

The Giuliana & Bill star said she decided to go back to work a little earlier than expected.

"I wasn't sure whether I was going to return to E! News this week or after the new year. The last thing I wanted to do was rush my recovery," Rancic explained.

Rancic's husband Bill Rancic told E! News earlier this month that his wife's double mastectomy surgery lasted about four hours and the doctors were very pleased with the result.

The couple told Ann Curry during an appearance on NBC's Today show before the operation that they had decided together that Giuliana should get the double mastectomy instead of undergoing an additional double lumpectomy [a lump-removal surgery in both breasts] and radiation in attempt to clean out one breast after her original lumpectomy had failed to remove the entire cancer mass.

The couple pondered for some time which option to take advantage of, but Giuliana said she ultimately opted for the double mastectomy because it would allow her to have children much sooner, would increase her chances of defeating the cancer completely, and she could live her life without having to constantly worry about future mammograms.

The E! News host revealed she had breast cancer in October, announcing she had learned of the bad news while attempting to get pregnant for the third time through in vitro fertilization.
