Ginger Zee has confirmed she will be competing on the 22nd season of Dancing with the Stars.

Good Morning America's meteorologist made the announcement on her own show Friday.

Zee, 35, and her husband Ben Aaron welcomed a son Adrian in late December, so she'll be returning to her job at GMA and performing on Dancing with the Stars after being out on maternity leave.

"I want to do it for him," Zee said of Adrian on GMA. "I think a lot of moms out there can probably say, 'It's tough to go back to work.' I'm just going to dive fully in and take every single day as it comes and do as much for him first... There's a lot of work ahead of us."

Zee will be traveling back and forth between New York City, where Good Morning America is filmed, and Los Angeles, where Dancing with the Stars is based.

Zee revealed her pro partner is Val Chmerkovskiy and she was genuinely surprised to be matched up with him. She "screamed" upon finding out because she was so excited, and since then, they've been rehearsing about five hours a day for the show.

"She has incredible potential and she really wants to do well and I just want to help her stay 'super mommy,'" Chmerkovskiy explained. "I can't wait to see her in an element I don't think anybody really sees her [in] every day."

Although Chmerkovskiy doesn't want Zee to get a big head, he insisted, "I think she's going to do well in all [of the dances]."

Zee called the demands of Dancing with the Stars "no joke," so she admitted her husband is "going to be doing a lot" at home.

Zee got acquainted with some of the DWTS pros back in 2014 when she participated in a dance GMA aired live the morning after the Academy Awards. She spent two days practicing for the big routine.

Chmerkovskiy joined Dancing with the Stars as a pro partner for its thirteenth season and has been with the show ever since. He won Season 20 of the reality dancing competition with actress Rumer Willis.

The only other confirmed Dancing with the Stars contestant so far is Jodie Sweetin from Fuller House, who announced her participation earlier this week. Sweetin will be paired with pro Keo Motsepe. Additional celebrity names have been leaked, however, including Top Model winner Nyle DiMarco and The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Fields.

The rest of the cast will officially be announced on GMA Tuesday, March 8. Dancing with the Stars premieres Monday, March 21 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
