Donald Trump says he wants to be permanently linked to the golf course he owns in New Jersey by building a mausoleum where he and his family can be buried.

If planning and zoning can be worked out at the state and local levels, Trump said he envisions himself and family members buried in vaults of a mausoleum to the right of the first hole at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., the Newark (N.J.) Star-Ledger said Thursday.

Planning board and state officials said they could not cite regulations for building a mausoleum that was not part of a religious or non-denominational cemetery.

"In all my years on the planning board, I don't think I've ever seen an application for a mausoleum," Bedminster Planning Board member Paul Henderson, who's been on the panel for more than 15 years, told the Star-Ledger.

Trump, admitting the approval process would be long, said he was willing to start off simple, by calling the mausoleum building a wedding chapel. If approved by the planning board, Trump told the newspaper he would decide whether to move ahead with the mausoleum plan.
