Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines have finished filming the final season of their hit show, Fixer Upper.

The HGTV reality stars took to Instagram on Thursday, November 2 to document their last day on the set, and it was apparently an emotional one.

"Today was the final reveal," Joanna captioned a photo of the couple walking arm-in-arm towards a giant screen blocking a project.

"We definitely felt the emotion behind each of those steps leading up to the big canvas. We love you Fixer Upper. Season premieres on November 21. #savedthebestseasonforlast."

Joanna, 39, also posted a video in which she and Chip, 43, arrived at work to discover a surprise tunnel filled with balloons and confetti.

"We made it to the finish line! We love these people @magnolia #fixerupper #season5iscoming," Joanna wrote.

The pair announced in late September Fixer Upper would be coming to an end.

"It is with both sadness and expectation that we share the news that Season 5 of Fixer Upper will be our last," Chip and Joanna wrote at the time on Instagram.

"While we are confident that this is the right choice for us, it has for sure not been an easy one to come to terms with. Our family has grown up alongside yours, and we have felt you rooting us on from the other side of the screen. How bittersweet to say goodbye to the very thing that introduced us all in the first place."

Chip and Joanna have conducted a lot of press in recent days, revealing their decision to stop filming Fixer Upper had to do with a desire to spend more time with their children -- Drake, 12, Ella, 11, Duke, 9, and Emmie, 7 -- and maintain a healthy and happy marriage by not becoming career-obsessed.

Chip also told ABC News last week that he'd like to welcome more kids with Joanna in the near future if she's up for it.

In addition, a source told Us Weekly that fame associated with Fixer Upper presented "a security issue" for the down-to-earth and humble family considering they appreciate their privacy.

"People drive by and like to take pictures in front of their house," an insider told the magazine. "I think they just want to take a step back from it."

Chip and Joanna have been starring on the series since the show premiered with a pilot in May 2013 and began airing its first full season in April 2014.

The couple just launched their holiday collection "Hearth and Hand" with Target on Sunday, November 5.
