Carl Boudreaux was eliminated from Survivor: David vs. Goliath in a special two-episode event Wednesday night on CBS.

Carl, a 41-year-old truck driver from Beaumont, TX, who currently resides in Houston, TX, was voted out of Kalokalo on Night 30 of the game at Tribal Council through a split 5-4 vote in which Alison Raybould, a 28-year-old physician from Leawood, KS, who currently resides in Chapel Hill, NC, received four votes.
Carl therefore became the twelfth person to leave the game and the fifth jury member.
"I'm confused. I never saw that one coming. We had a plan in place but I put my guard down and they switched the plan and I'm the one that's going home... I was kind of on cruise control... and they got the better of me," Carl said in his final words.
Christian Hubicki and Gabby Pascuzzi chose to team up with a few of the original Goliath members to take out Carl, whom they called "the godfather" and too controlling.

During an exclusive interview with Reality TV World on Thursday, Carl talked about his Survivor experience. Below is a portion of what he had to say.

Reality TV World: Do you think the outcome would've been different had you just allowed Gabby to be a part of the plan to vote Alison out? Do you think there's a chance Gabby would've went along with it as long as she felt included?
Carl Boudreaux: Looking back at it, I seriously doubt she would've went along with it, regardless if we would have totally brought her in, because that's how close she had gotten with Alison.
So I don't think we would've been able to change her mind anyways, because, like I said, she always felt on the outs. I mean, you know, she was never in the middle of all the things we had put together.

We were basically just carrying her along with us, in a sense. So I think she had her mind set and made up and she was ready to blur lines, if I must. She took that move and props to her.
Reality TV World: Gabby was shown voicing worry and frustration that Angelina Keeley had replaced her in the Davids group. Would you say that was true?
Carl Boudreaux: I wouldn't say she replaced her. I mean, we did bring her in. You want as many people in your alliance as possible when the game gets that close, so that you have more people to count on.
So, I wouldn't say she replaced Gabby. She never replaced Gabby, but she just basically joined the Davids group with us, so we were going to use [Angelina's] vote as much as we could to get out the next Goliath and then the next Goliath.
So, no, [Angelina] never replaced her, but that's the way Gabby took it, and it's unfortunate. But no.

Reality TV World: Mike White served as the swing vote between Alison and yourself. Are you surprised Mike chose to take you out? On one hand, he thought Alison was a huge threat to his game, but on the other hand, Mike would've been stuck with Angelina and three Davids had he taken Alison out.
Carl Boudreaux: I'm really not surprised because Mike really just sat around. Mike didn't really do much. In my opinion, Mike was floating by however he could. With Mike, it was like, "Okay, if I can get this person or that person, then it works for me as long as it's not me."
That's kind of sort of how it was with Mike, so I wasn't a bit surprised that he chose to vote me out instead of Alison at all, because he started the game with Alison, so why wouldn't he choose Alison over me?
Because me and Mike never really connected. We never really had that connection as far as working together on the island, so I wasn't a bit surprised.

Reality TV World: Nick Wilson was shown finding another idol, thanks to Davie Rickenbacker covering for him in the middle of the night. Did Nick let you know that he had found another idol? And if so, did you two discuss any plans to use it?
Carl Boudreaux: At that point, no, I did not know Nick had found another idol. I want to say that was the night before the day we had to get ready for an [Immunity Challenge]. But no, I didn't know anything about that.

Reality TV World: That must have surprised you then when watching Wednesday night's episode.
Carl Boudreaux: Yeah, it really did. It really did. Because of course you go back and watch it and you think now, like, "Man, he could have played that for me!" But at the time, when we're sitting there at Tribal, we had no clue that they were going to flip and gun for me.
Now, I would have to say if we would have known, I feel in my heart Nick or Davie would have played an idol to keep me in the game. But again, we had no clue and never saw the vote going that way.
Reality TV World: It seemed like Nick walked out of camp that night without waking a single person up or disturbing anybody. Was that accurate?
Carl Boudreaux: You know, watching it, I kind of sort of remember that I wasn't all the way asleep. So I vaguely remember him and Davie sitting there and then Nick getting up, but I don't remember it 100 percent.
When you lay down to try to get some sleep, that's exactly what it was -- you try to get some sleep. Because it was hard to do, you know what I mean?
There were not very many nights when you got a good night's rest. It just so happened that it worked out for Nick that night that I guess everybody was tired. (Laughs)

Reality TV World: Going back to Dan Rengering's vote-off, why did you decide to use your idol nullifier on Dan and not save it for a future Tribal Council? And how close did you come to not using it?
Carl Boudreaux: When we first discussed it as a collective tribe, you know, Gabby was really gung-ho about me not using it that night. She just wanted to use the "steal-a-vote" [advantage], but for me, it was like, in order for the "steal a vote" to work, everything would have to line up perfectly.
If it don't, then one of us [Davids] still goes home. So, for me, it wasn't a hard decision at all. We had a sense that Dan had another idol, so I knew whom I was going to play it on.
And if you go back and look at the numbers on that vote, it was six votes for Dan, three votes for Christian and two votes for Angelina. So, if I hadn't played the idol nullifier that specific time, Christian goes home.
So, for me, I feel as though I did the right thing in that moment by playing it. I played it correctly and I saved someone in my alliance, and that's just what it was.
