Brandon Jones has revealed the "wild" way in which he was cast on Michelle Young's season of The Bachelorette.

Brandon is one of Michelle's Final 4 bachelors on Season 18 of The Bachelorette, but the 26-year-old traveling nurse recruiter from Portland, OR, apparently came close to never submitting his casting application for Season 18.

During a recent episode of the "Click Bait with Bachelor Nation" podcast hosted by Joe Amabile, Tia Booth, and Natasha Parker, Brandon explained how he ended up on Michelle's season.

"I've only seen one season, and that was Matt James' season. And so I was told while watching, 'Hey, you've got to pick your favorite and see if she goes to the end.' So I was like, 'Okay, my favorite is Michelle -- basketball player, cutie, and everything like that,'" Brandon explained.

Once Michelle finished as Matt's runner-up and was subsequently selected to be The Bachelorette star for late 2021, Brandon said his roommate urged him to sign up.

"I looked at him and I said, 'No,'" Brandon recalled. "And then three days go by and he comes back to me and goes, 'No, really. I filled out most of [the application]. Just put a couple of pictures in it and send it.'"

Brandon explained how his roommate believed in him when he didn't even believe in himself.

"I was like, 'Okay, I look like I'm 17 years old, first off. There's no way!'" Brandon shared.

But when thinking about how much he and Michelle seemed to have in common, Brandon finally signed up and got on the show "in a blink of an eye."

Brandon apparently received the phone call from The Bachelorette producers while he was at the gym.

The casting window was about to be closed, according to Brandon, and so he was "the last one to be on the show."

"They were like, 'You've got to get everything packed up.' And I was like, 'Wait, I'm on the show?!' And they were like, 'Yeah, did no one tell you? You're the last one!'" Brandon revealed.

"And I was like, 'Okay! I'm going to have to get some clothes!' I was so excited."

Brandon has appeared to be a frontrunner for Michelle's heart since the start of her journey to find love on The Bachelorette. The smooth bachelor and sweet talker, for instance, received two group-date roses back to back.

Brandon called Michelle "the star" he's been "chasing" his entire life and gushed to the cameras about how the fifth-grade teacher brought out the best in him.

Before choosing her Final 4 bachelors for hometown dates, Michelle took Brandon to her childhood home in Minnesota on a one-on-one date and the pair got cozy in her parents' hot tub. (Michelle's parents walked in on the couple kissing, when Brandon was wearing her father's swimming trunks).

Michelle said no matter what she and Brandon did together, they were able to laugh and have fun. She could envision him being her best friend in life, and she said that may be the most important thing when searching for one's soul mate.

Brandon, coming across quite genuine and sincere, asked to speak to Michelle's parents in private, and then he asked the couple for permission to propose marriage to Michelle if he ended up being her final bachelor.

After receiving their blessing, Brandon told Michelle, "I am falling in love with you. I know it's been so quick, but I am."

Michelle told the cameras, "Brandon's heart is in this, and without a question, he would be there for me."

Michelle therefore gave Brandon a rose at dinner that evening and expressed excitement over the thought of meeting his family, especially his mother, who had made a bracelet for Michelle to wear.

"I know how hard Brandon loves, and that's not something that you come by often," Michelle noted.

"It's very possible that I could fall in love with Brandon, and I think tonight was the start of that."

The Bachelorette is set to air its next episode Tuesday night at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
