Adam Levine may be a tattooed rock star, but he's also apparently a gentleman.

The Voice coach and Maroon 5 frontman has revealed that "of course" he asked Behati Prinsloo's father for his blessing to propose to his now-fiancee, Us Weekly reported.

"I did ask his permission," Levine said during a Monday appearance on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM radio show On Air With Ryan Seacrest, according to Us. "I don't want to talk about it, you know how I am, but yes, of course I did. I had to. And it was extremely nerve-racking."

Levine, 35, reconciled with Prinsloo, 25, in late Spring 2013 after they briefly split. Once they got back together, Levine apparently didn't hesitate to take their relationship to the next level and had popped the question in July of that year.

Levine and the Victoria's Secret model reportedly began dating in late 2012 after the singer and Anne Vyalitsyna, who's also a model, called it quits.

Also in his interview, Levine discussed how he wasn't used to attracting girls when he was younger.

"We were freshmen in high school, no girls would talk to us," he joked with Seacrest, according to Us. "I had pimples all over my face. I was not cool, really, at all. And that's when all of this started, and we're still doing it. It blows my mind."

He also reportedly confirmed Gwen Stefani, who will be serving as a coach on The Voice's upcoming seventh season, will appear on Maroon 5's upcoming album entitled V.

"I wanted it to be a surprise, but [yes] she is," he noted.
