The Americans and their international partners will "face emotional, cultural, and logistical challenges of building a life together," according to the network.

Each 90 Day Fiance couple will have 90 days to figure out if they will get married or break up.

Below is what happened on Episode 14 of 90 Day Fiance's twelfth season.

MARISSA and EDWARD

A week had passed since Marissa and Edward had gotten into their big fight in New York. The couple was trying to reconnect, and so they got a puppy together to hopefully improve their relationship and also their dynamic as a family.

Marissa and Edward were also trying to find more hobbies they could enjoy together. Edward therefore sat in on one of Marissa's fitness classes.

Edward said Marissa looked so "hot" teaching the class, and he applauded all of the women in the class for working so hard.

"I want to get back to the old Edward and Melissa who enjoy doing things... like going to the gym and working out. I feel like we lost that part of our relationship ever since you got to the United States," Marissa told Edward.

"And learning how to find my patience is contributing to us building back up what we always had. It feels good. And I know I'm said horrible things, like, "I'm not sure about our relationship. I'm not sure if I'm ready to get married to you.'"

Marissa acknowledged that she was trying to be more patient, and she said this day reminded her of why she had fallen in love with Edward in the first place.

Later on, Edward and Marissa went out for a nice dinner, and Edward brought up a heavy discussion about how he'd leave her if she ever cheated on him.

Marissa thought it was weird Edward was bringing up his insecurities again, especially when they were supposed to have a relaxing and romantic evening.

CATIE and JOSH

Catie and Josh were shown riding bikes and enjoying a picnic in a park.

Catie was planning to talk to Josh about potentially having an open marriage because she admitted sleeping with one man for the rest of her life would be "a crazy commitment."

Catie told Josh that her bachelorette party was really fun but she had followed his guidelines and rules for the evening.

Josh said he was "relieved" to find out that Catie hadn't kissed any guys at her party, and he shared in a confessional, "I feel like trust has been rebuilt -- and it needed to be rebuilt, and it needed to come from Catie."

Josh told the cameras that Catie finally looked like she wanted to get married.

After Josh opened up to Catie about how it was a "difficult time to be an immigrant" and he didn't feel welcome in the U.S., Catie didn't know how to bring up that she wanted to hook up with other people once they got married.

Catie knew the timing probably wasn't right, but she still decided to mention how she wanted to have an open marriage.

Catie's request shocked Josh, who admitted he was "done with this bullsh-t."

Josh went on to explain, "Maybe the signs were there, but if she says the only way we're getting married is for me to agree to an open relationship, I mean, I already no the answer, and the answer is no."

Catie asked Josh what they should do if they got bored in five years and she just wanted to make out with someone else.

"I crave the taste," Catie confessed.

Josh admitted he felt "blindsided" by this conversation and it apparently stopped the clock on their wedding planning.

Josh told Catie that he had his fun and his focus was on getting settled, building a home, and having children. Josh said he wanted to be a family with Catie, but she appeared disappointed.

"This is a binding commitment. I love you and I want to be monogamous," Josh told Catie.

Catie had been hoping Josh would be more open-minded, and she said she was worried sex with Josh would become boring and then she'd feel unfulfilled.

Catie asked Josh to be open-minded in the future, but he shot down the idea of an open relationship once again.

Josh was apparently at a loss for words, and he told Catie, "It's kind of like you're giving me the finger."

Josh said he was going to refuse signing "a social contract" that would allow Catie to spread her wings and hook up with other guys later in life. Josh realized in that moment he should probably return home.

DEBBY and MIDO

After Debby and Mido got engaged, they enjoyed a cooking class together.

Debby expressed her love for Mido, and he assured her that he was starting to feel comfortable in the U.S.

Mido actually professed his love to Debby in return -- which is something she had been waiting for -- and so she gushed about being "so happy."

Debby said she wanted to have a quiet and intimate wedding ceremony, and that she was only going to invite her daughter and son. Debby noted that her son was very protective of her and so his relationship with Mido might be a little tricky.

Debby was hoping Mido would patch up his relationship with her friends, but Mido said he had no interest in seeing them or dealing with them.

"I still haven't forgiven them. For me, it's done. I can't do that," Mido explained in a confessional.

Debby said Mido and her friends getting along would give her "a more peaceful life" but she didn't believe Mido was going to give her an inch towards reconciling.

"Hopefully [my friends] love me enough to be excited for me," Debby said.

Debby therefore met up with her pals and let them know that she was about to walk down the aisle as a bride.

Debby's friends didn't think Debby had given her romance with Mido enough time in the U.S. to make this decision.

Debby's friends were also disappointed to find out that they weren't invited to the wedding. They actually called the tiny wedding a little "cruel."

Debby assured her pals that Mido was her "person" and she'd be happy for her friends "if the shoe was on the other foot." Debby said she wanted everyone to move on from the dramatic fight she had with Mido after the bar.

Debby then learned her son may not be able to attend her wedding due to a work conflict, and it devastated her. Debby wondered if her son was trying to miss it because he didn't approve of her marrying Mido.

PAULA and THOMAS

Paula and Thomas were shown cleaning up Thomas' apartment to prepare for the arrival of her family.

Paula wanted her relatives to stay with them during their trip, but Thomas thought their place was way too small to welcome more people.

Paula said Thomas was acting immature and failing to see the larger picture. Paula explained how spending time her family meant the world to her and she'd return to Brazil if Thomas couldn't be more understanding and generous of his time and space.

"There's something inside of me that's kind of like gasoline. It's burning inside of me. I will do my best to hide my feelings from my family, but if it's not working, I'll go back to Brazil, for sure," Paula told the cameras.

Thomas insisted that he was giving Paula everything he could.

Later on, Paula's relatives arrived from Brazil, and she and Thomas were in a good place. The couple's wedding was going to take place in one week, and Paula said she decided to put any negative feelings she had about Thomas to the side.

"It's been so stressful. I just want to have a normal life," Paula noted.

Once Paula's loved ones were getting settled, Thomas announced that no one could spray perfume.

Paula's family seemed to think Thomas was crazy and very quirky.

Paula felt more pressure to get married now that her family was with her in the United States.

"But Thomas won't bend for me, and I'm totally embarrassed, trying to hold it all on. I have one week to find out if I will be happy... or if this wedding stuff is a huge mistake," Paula shared in a confessional.

Once everyone was living in the house together for a bit, Thomas complained about feeling "suffocated" in his own home. Thomas said the arrangement was chaotic.

Paula then revealed to her brother that she always wanted to live in the United States and Thomas was just one of the reasons why she wanted to stay there.

Paula's brother was concerned because he could see that Paula frequently got annoyed with her fiance. He reminded her that she was leaving her life and career behind in Brazil to potentially marry someone she had issues with.

ASHIA and MAXWELL

Ashia said her godbrother Rod was doing his best to scare away Maxwell but she wasn't going to let him do that.

During a sitdown chat with Rod, Rod pointed out how Maxwell was going to face many challenges in the U.S.

Rod was worried that Maxwell wouldn't be able to nail down a job in the U.S.

Rod accused Ashia of rushing her relationship, and he criticized her by saying, "Are you that desperate to have somebody else's last name?!"

Rod told Ashia that she deserved better and she wasn't thinking this marriage through. He claimed that he just wanted the best for Ashia, but she reminded him how she had already committed to Maxwell.

"There is going to be a wedding in Nigeria tomorrow," Ashia confirmed.

Rod threatened to book a ticket back home and miss the wedding, and Ashia couldn't believe he was trying to make her choose between him and Maxwell.

"Either you're going to be for me or against me," Ashia concluded, before adding, "Every month, I am losing an egg... I am not getting any younger."

As Rod spoke about the future, he grew increasingly more upset and started banging his hands on the table.

Ashia therefore walked away from the conversation and announced how she wasn't going to allow someone to be violent. She said Rod had "lost his mind" and she wasn't going to put up with it.
