VH1 has announced Tough Love, a new Drew Barrymore-produced reality dating series, will premiere Sunday, March 15 at 10PM ET/PT.

Each Tough Love episode will follow matchmaker Steve Ward as he gathers a group of eight women and improves their unsuccessful dating habits via a "tough love boot camp."  Relationship issues Ward will tackle with the women include first impressions, jealousy, communication and getting them to venture outside their comfort zones.

Once the women have completed the lessons, they will be sent out on dates with men hand-picked by Ward from his pool of eligible bachelors.

VH1 ordered the eight-episode series in December and it is produced by Barrymore's Flower Films and High Noon Entertainment.

"We are thrilled to partner with Drew Barrymore as well as Flower Films and High Noon Entertainment on this project," said VH1 programming executive Jeff Olde.

"The moment they introduced us to Steven we knew that he is not your mother's matchmaker and has the rare courage to tell women what men honestly think. Our collaboration will maximize all of the positive potential in what's sure to be an entertaining show with real heart and stakes."

Tough Love represents the first television project Barrymore's company has produced. The company's previous projects have consisted largely of romantic comedies starring Barrymore, including Never Been Kissed, 50 First Dates and Fever Pitch.

"We at Flower Films are intrigued by the dissection of relationships, just like every other person on the planet," said Barrymore. "We're all trying to figure out how to make love function while continuing to better ourselves. This show is a fun way to do that."

Prior to its formal debut, VH1 will air a "sneak premiere" of Tough Love's first episode on Tuesday, March 10.
