The Voice featured the Top 8 artists for Season 22 being narrowed down to only five finalists in a series of major cuts during Tuesday night's live results show.

The Voice host Carson Daly explained at the beginning of the broadcast that the top four votegetters from any coach's team would automatically advance to the finale and then the remaining four contestants must perform for the last "Instant Save" of the season.

The "Instant Save" winner, determined by America's votes in a five-minute window at the end of the one-hour live broadcast, would then round out the Top 5.

The four finale contenders who automatically advanced were Morgan Myles, a 35-year-old musician from Williamsport, PA who currently resides in Nashville, TN; Bodie, a 29-year-old professor and singer from Los Angeles, CA, who currently resides in Ladera Ranch, CA; Brayden Lape, a 16-year-old student and aspiring singer from Grass Lake, MI; and Bryce Leatherwood, a 22-year-old student and singer from Woodstock, GA, who currently resides in Statesboro, GA.

Morgan is a member of The Voice coach Camila Cabello's team, while Bodie, Brayden and Bryce are all members of coach Blake Shelton's team.

Carson pointed out how Blake had "a clean sweep" of artists chosen to compete in the finale.

The "Instant Save" winner who also earned a spot in the finale was Omar Jose Cardona, a 33-year-old singer and cruise ship headliner from Orlando, FL, from coach John Legend's team.

In addition to Omar, the other "Team Legend" artists who performed live for the "Instant Save" on Tuesday night were Kim Cruse, a 30-year-old former backup vocalist from Woodville, TX, and Parijita Bastola, a 17-year-old singer from Baltimore, MD, who currently resides in Severna Park, MD.

Coach Gwen Stefani's team member Justin Aaron, a 34-year-old worship leader from Junction City, KS, also had to perform for "Instant Save" votes.

Parijita kicked off the elimination portion of the evening by singing "To Make You Feel My Love" for the Instant Save.

John called the performance "gorgeous" and said Parijita always sings with beauty and poise. He said she rose to the occasion and is simply "incredible."

Kim belted out "All By Myself," and John said Kim had "done it again," considering she also had to fight for her place in the semifinals last week.

John said Kim's performance was "moving" and she certainly powered through it with courage, excellence and real talent.

"[You're] truly one of the best singers I've ever been around in my life," John gushed.

Justin then took the stage with "Made Away" on behalf of "Team Gwen," who gushed about how it was amazing.

Gwen admitted she was up all night praying for Justin, whom she believes is "the kindest person on the show" this season. Gwen thanked Justin for showing vulnerability and sharing his faith with everyone.

And finally, Omar performed "You and I" and showed off his vocal range and skills.

John told his team member that he was "stunned" to even see the artist in jeopardy of going home. John clearly thought Omar deserved a spot in the finale.

"You've stunned us with your ability to perform each and every week. Your voice is just incredible. If this is The Voice, and we vote for people because of their voice, Omar is 'The Voice,'" John insisted.

Omar also impressed the majority of The Voice home viewers with his rendition of "You and I" and received the most live votes for the "Instant Save."

When Omar advanced, Kim, Parijita and Justin were sent packing.

John will therefore have one artist representing him in The Voice Season 22 finale next week. "Team Camila" will have one artist and "Team Blake" will have three artists performing to win.
