After hosting the three-hour 2019 Billboard Music Awards on Wednesday night and performing multiple music numbers, Kelly went to the hospital to go under the knife the following morning.

"Not gonna lie... I may or may not have broken down in tears after the show from pain," Kelly, 37, tweeted on Thursday.

"BUT thanks 2 all the amazing people @ Cedars-Sinai [Medical Center in Los Angeles] I flew home directly after the event, nailed the surgery early this morning, & feeling awesome now! Bye bye appendix #TheShowMustGoOn."

Kelly's appendix needed to be removed because she had been suffering from appendicitis all week long, according to Entertainment Tonight.

She therefore flew from back from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, CA, where she currently lives with her family, to have the procedure the morning after the awards show.

Kelly is now resting and recovering, and she plans to return to work as a coach on The Voice for its upcoming live May 6 broadcast in which the Top 13 will perform for home viewer votes on NBC, ET reported.

Kelly's team is down to only two artists heading into the next live show: Rod Stokes and Jej Vinson.

Kelly reportedly showed no signs of pain or discomfort while hosting the Billboard Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The Season 1 American Idol winner reportedly belted out a medley of the year's biggest songs -- including "I Like It" by Cardi B and "Girls Like You" by Maroon 5, which is fronted by her The Voice co-star Adam Levine.

Kelly also topped of the night by performing her new song "Broken & Beautiful" from the UglyDolls soundtrack effortlessly.

The three-time Grammy winner and her husband, Brandon Blackstock, recently relocated from Tennessee to Los Angeles since most of her job opportunities are in California, according to ET.

Kelly and Brandon are parents of daughter River, 4, and son Remington, 3.

Brandon, 42, also has daughter Savannah, 17, and son Seth, 12, from a previous marriage.
