The Voice continued its Season 17 Battle Round with coaches Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton and John Legend narrowing down their teams through a series of epic faceoffs during Tuesday night's episode on NBC.

After a series of Battles, the coaches chose to advance the following artists to The Knockout Round: Alex Guthrie, Myracle Holloway, Katie Kadan, Max Boyle, and Cali Wilson.

However, Gwen stole Destiny Rayne from John's team after she lost her Battle to Katie.

The Battle Round features two artists on the same team performing a duet.

The two artists in each faceoff attempt to blend their sound while also outshining his or her opponent, and only one person moves forward in the competition unless the losing artist is stolen by another coach or saved by his or her original coach.

The first Battle pairing of the night belonged to Injoy Fountain, a 29-year-old from Wichita, KS, and Alex, a 25-year-old from Marietta, GA, on behalf of "Team Kelly," who was being advised by Fifth Harmony member Normani at the time.

Blake said he enjoyed Injoy's infectious personality. And while John pointed out Alex is a strong vocalist, the coach noted he couldn't see much of Alex's personality shine through.

Gwen disagreed with John, saying she did hear the personality in his voice and it was a great Battle. Gwen thought Alex took control of the stage.

Kelly called both of her artists "incredibly talented and gifted." She admitted she was in love with both of her team members and it broke her heart to choose between them because they were both equal.

However, Kelly named Alex the winner of the Battle because she felt he better rounded out her team for this season. She called his voice "versatile" and pointed out "his range is insane."

Kelly predicted Alex would be a force to be reckoned with during the Knockout Round.

Gwen then paired Elise Azkoul, a 28-year-old from Atlanta, GA, with Myracle, a 44-year-old from Los Angeles, CA, for a Battle performance of  "breathin'" by Ariana Grande. Will.i.am. served as the advisor for Gwen's team.

Kelly thought the duet was "beautiful" because they had executed a hard song well. Kelly said Elise's performance was controlled and she has a gift while Myracle sings with pure heart like Mary J. Blige.

Blake said both ladies had "really great moments" but he could hear Myracle's difficult past come through her voice. John felt a lot of emotion coming from both women, but he asked Myracle to take more vocal risks because her tone is "so cool."

Gwen found her decision challenging but chose Myracle as the winner of the Battle.

A montage of Battles was also shown during the episode.

Matt New sang "Let Me Love You" against Max Boyle for "Team Legend," and John advanced Max, and then Cali performed "Miss Me More" against Elliemae on behalf of Blake's team, and Blake chose Cali as the winner.

Next up was Katie Kadan, a 38-year-old from Chicago, IL, and Destiny, a 23-year-old from Coral Springs, FL, for John's team, which was advised by former The Voice coach Usher.

The girls belted out "Tiny Dancer" for their performance, and all four coaches gave them a standing ovation.

Gwen gushed about how the artists got the room "fired up," and while she initially didn't think Destiny stood a chance due to Katie's life onstage and personality, she really stood her own.

Gwen thought the duet was professional and gorgeous, but she said she couldn't get over Katie's voice.

Kelly complimented Katie on her "restraint" and said Destiny also "killed it."

"Katie, your voice is just an eruption and it can't not be celebrated," Blake said.

"Destiny, you rising to the occasion is what made that an actual great duet. You put everything you have into that performance, and that's why everyone stood up. You are doing what you're meant to do."

John thought the Battle was thrilling, and he called it "a beautiful moment" for America to watch. John had no idea Destiny would deliver such power and intensity, but all John could say about Katie was "Lord Jesus!"

"Your voice just sounds like magic. You belong making records; people need to see you and hear you," John told Katie.

John therefore declared Katie the winner of the Battle, but then Blake and Gwen both attempted to steal the young artist.

John said he already used his "Save" and so Destiny had an interesting decision to make. Blake admitted he'd be willing to fight his girlfriend over Destiny because she really stepped up and "blew the roof off the place."

Gwen explained Destiny proved she can bring out her personality and connect with an audience.

"I have won more seasons of The Voice than Gwen has been a coach," Blake argued.

"Maybe he has the most wins on this show, but I've had the longest career. I know how to do this!" Gwen insisted. "It's not just about this show, it's a life choice!"

In the end, Destiny joined Gwen's team.
