Spencer Pratt may apparently have some bigger problems than simply trying to find a new nemesis on The Hills.

Although the show's ratings would seem to all but guarantee MTV will attempt to continue the show without her, The Hills executive producer Adam DiVello says he's not sure if the show will continue beyond Lauren Conrad's departure at the conclusion of its upcoming fifth season.

"I can't even say if there is a next season. I have no information for you on The Hills beyond Lauren Conrad," DiVello told E! News "We're focusing on this season, and this will likely be our highest-rated season yet. I think a lot of people are going to tune in to see Lauren wrap her storyline."

When speaking of Conrad's departure from the show while attending Star magazine's Young Hollywood party at Apple Lounge on Wednesday night, Pratt admitted to not being sure about what he will do on the show without her.

"I'm actually very depressed," Pratt joked to E! News. "Who am I gonna beef out with? I gotta find some new enemy on the show."

Pratt, along with his "wife" Heidi Montag, have had more than their share of disagreements with Conrad on and off camera, particularly in regard to an alleged sex tape featuring the now former Hills star and her ex Jason Wahler.

DiVello also hinted that the recently released fifth season The Hills preview trailer which features Conrad and Montag making up may not accurately the status of pair's relationship by the end of the season.

"What you see in the trailer, with Lauren and Heidi, is very deceiving," DiVello told E!. "You'll see that in one of the first few episodes of the season, that when they wake up the next morning from that [reconciliation], things may not be as they had hoped. But it’s a rollercoaster ride for these two. They are at a point where they are ready to forgive each other, but there’s still this looming presence of Spencer Pratt in Heidi’s life, and that’s the thing Lauren is dealing with the most."
