Fox has announced that The Devil Wears Prada director David Frankel will serve as guest judge during the Tuesday, June 12 episode of On the Lot, the Mark Burnett and Steven Spielberg-created American Idol-like movie-making reality competition series that aims to find the country's next great filmmaker.

Frankel will serve as a guest judge for On the Lot along with the series' regular judges, Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher and director Garry Marshall.

Due to poor ratings, Fox scrapped its original plans to air one-hour "Film Premiere" episodes -- the show's version of Idol's weekly performance shows -- on Monday nights, followed by half-hour "Box Office" results shows on Tuesday nights.  Instead, Fox announced it will air just one hour-long weekly episode of On the Lot on Tuesdays at 8PM ET/PT beginning with last week's June 5 broadcast.

Similar to the semifinalists performance show format Idol used to utilize, On the Lot's remaining 15 finalists have been divided into three groups of five. The first group of five finalists consists of Sam Friedlander, a 27-year-old web producer who currently resides in Santa Monica, CA and was raised in Westchester, NY; Adam Stein, a 29-year-old freelance film editor who was born in Miami, FL and currently lives in Los Angeles, CA; Hilary Graham, a 37-year-old stay-at-home wife and mom who lives in Francestown, NH and was raised in Chelmsford, MA; Shalini Kantayya, a 30-year-old freelance director who was raised in Hartford, CT and currently lives in Brooklyn, NY; and Trever James, a 24-year-old film editor who currently lives in Los Angeles, CA, and is originally from Great Falls, MT.

Fox aired the first group's five-minute personal film submissions during the June 5 broadcast, and viewers then voted for their favorites following the episode. The finalist who received the lowest number of viewer votes will be eliminated during the Tuesday, June 13 broadcast.

Fox failed to announce which five of the 10 remaining unscreened finalists will have their personal five-minute film submission air this week.
