Taylor's The Bachelorette season just began filming in California, and her initial cast of bachelors was released last week.
ABC announced its decision to cast Taylor, a 31-year-old divorced mother of three kids and the creator of #MomTok in her Mormon community, as the franchise's new leading lady in September, and she proved to be a polarizing choice.
While Taylor has a huge number of supporters and social-media followers, many people are angry at the network for picking a woman who has "two baby daddies" and admitted to soft-swinging in her marriage.
"To those of you asking that question [of why me?] trust me, I was right along there with you," Taylor admitted on Instagram in September.
"All I can say is that I am beyond grateful for this opportunity. I think everything happens for a reason. I am someone who can handle criticism and backlash, trust me. If anyone can handle it, I'm one of them."

Taylor added, "We are human, we make mistakes, and how we move forward is what really matters. And there is no timeline on that either, like, have I made lots of mistakes since? Yes. Am I going to make future mistakes? Yes."
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star suggested that no one is perfect.

"You learn from it and try to be better. You get up again. If you've messed up in life and you feel like some type of failure, just know that you're not," Taylor insisted.
"The only person that's going to stop me is myself, and that is it! With all that being said, I am beyond grateful."

Taylor was married to Tate Paul from 2016 to 2022. When they were together, they welcomed two children: daughter Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 5.
Taylor previously admitted to violating the rules of the couple's soft-swinging arrangement by becoming more intimate with another man in their friend group, which led to their separation and eventual May 2022 divorce.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which premiered in 2023 on Hulu and will release new episodes in November, featured the cheating scandal.
The show has also documented Taylor's first post-divorce relationship with Dakota Mortensen.
Taylor and Dakota made their romance public in July 2022, and then they welcomed a son together, Ever True, in March 2024.

Taylor and Dakota appeared to break up in late 2024, but Taylor didn't confirm their split until earlier this year.
According to Taylor's mother Liann May, Taylor and Dakota are still in love and Dakota will try to sabotage her The Bachelorette season if given a chance.

When Extra recently asked Taylor what she's looking for in her ideal partner, she said she wants a kind man who believes in a higher power, although he doesn't have to be Mormon.
The brunette beauty also said she's open to dating guys with children and big social-media followings.
However, Taylor shared on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast how she doesn't want "the life of the party" or a man who is controlling and still friends with his ex-girlfriends.
