The Amazing Race has begun a new Emmy victory streak.

One year after Bravo's Top Chef ended its seven-year streak, the CBS reality competition series started new one by claiming the Outstanding Reality-Competition Program award at Sunday's 63nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony.
The win marks The Amazing Race's eighth overall victory in the nine years since the American Academy of Arts and Sciences created the Outstanding Reality-Competition Program award in 2003.
"This is a real out of body experience. We are so unbelievably proud of this," The Amazing Race executive producer Bertram van Munster said as he accepted the award. "I want to thank the Academy, of course, and CBS -- [CEO] Les Moonves and [president] Nina Tessler. My amazing partner, Elise Doganieri, who is the creator of the show. The entire team -- Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman. We've worked together for 12 years now, almost, and in harmony, I must say. And we are really, really proud of this achievement, so thank you so much."
"I want to also thank all the families who support us while we're on the road and working so hard," added Doganieri, who is also van Munster's wife. "And also all the amazing editors and cameramen and soundmen who are with us all the time through everything. And this amazing team that stands behind us. The Amazing Race defeated American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Project Runway, So You Think You Can Dance, and Top Chef to win the best reality-competition program award.
