Syfy announced that it has renewed Scare Tactics for a fourth season, which will continue to be hosted by former Saturday Night Live cast member and current 30 Rock star Tracy Morgan.

Morgan -- who began helming Scare Tactics for its Summer 2008 third season -- will also serve as an executive producer on the upcoming fourth installment, which is scheduled to premiere this fall.

"We're ecstatic to be bringing back Scare Tactics for another season to all our die-hard Syfy reality fans," said network programming executive Mark Stern.

"Tracy has his finger on the pulse when it comes to comedy and having him on board as executive producer just adds another layer to the huge success of our show."

Scare Tactics will continue to follow friends and family members of an unsuspecting victim as they help to set-up up an elaborately staged scary situation, complete with movie-style special effects and makeup.

Each segment ends with the hoax being revealed to the victim, and while home viewers may find the frightening funny, those being scared-stiff almost assuredly do not.

Syfy ordered 13 half-hour Scare Tactics' fourth-season episodes. Production is currently slated to begin this spring.
